Has anyone successfully setup a chinese server using the stock files? if so I could use a little help in getting it to work
Nope, I didn't and wouldn't even bother since I cannot read Chinese. I got my server set up using those "v63 English" files floating around here... (and my own English GShop)
The one (v63) from the very top of this thread/post:
http://forum.ragezone.com/f751/1-4-5...3/#post7104198
I have those, but I can't play a female character for some reason.
also doesn't answer how you got your own gshop working
Oh, and to answer your question ~ yes females are fine
what would be wrong with females???
got no idea, but using the v63 en files I couldn't play one *shrugs*
ok, so you got a gshopsev working correctly. any luck with gshopsev1?
No idea why but it seems that sGSHOPedit doesn't save the gshop correctly for 1.4.5 ... So I'm using the 1.4.4 one and it works perfect for me :)
@343
Ewww... How can you use that terribly old and bugged interface? I rather prefer the genesis one... at least it's localized correctly...
LOL, honestly IDC for the new one THAT much - that I'm willing to put up w/ whatever flaws my interface has!
Ok, I HATE the new interface that much  (correction)
Try to fix that old interface then... Because it looks very ugly and weird (well thanks PWI for they bad work also)...
It's entirely possible to fix up the old ui, problem is it requires a lot of time to find all the xml files and make edits that work. It also gets a bit annoying having to update it between new version releases such as from 1.4.4 to 1.4.5.
Strange enough though, even thoguh the old ui has all of the localizations (as in nothing is in chinese), none of it is placed properly and the spaces are not big enough to fit english words.
Wanmei continues to gives updates to the old ui as well even though they have not fixed it after a year has passed.

Just dont forget that gshopsev becomes gshop1 as 145 reads it differently now (unless you modify gs to read gshopsev) but yes old gshops work just fine.

on another note.. how do I use iweb.. I've tried everything I know it's in the right spot too.
did you swap the port on me again?
If you have issues seeing certain characters or npcs you need to do one of two things if not both. Update your DirectX and use an older models.pick. Alternatively you could also go into your current models.pick and edit the ecms to the correct version.

Yup, that has already been answered (several times over). If you cannot see characters/models (NPCs etc...) then you need to download and install THIS
If after downloading and installing that you still cannot see any models (female characters for example) then you need to use models.pck from official PWi patch v652
..why not go search for a Private Server out there that's running 145 files, grab their client and use their models.pck..another way of acquiring the needed files, i can think of a couple compatible places straight off the top of my head.
Just get official client v670!
