Setting up a test server for v62 1.4.5
Alright, so I'm a newbie at using sELedit, but I'd like to assume I'm doin good for my third day. I am having some problems with getting items to be craftable at NPC's though. I've gone through everything, the armor itself was cloned from other armor in the same NPC. The recipes are 100% correct, the NPC Crafting services are set up 100% correct, and the Armor is set up in the right places with all the right ID's I created. After I patched the game, it shows up IN the NPC, but I cannot craft it. It says "Invalid Service Request" and there's no sign of it when i go to view the syslogs. No record of me even attempting to craft it.
Also, can someone explain how to set up a test server so I can make sure I've fixed my bugs before I patch? as said in the title, I'm runnin 1.4.5
Thanks in advance everyone. (If I was an idiot and just couldnt find it in RZ, a point in the right direction would be most helpful as well)

Are you sure they are v62, and where did you get them if they are?

Well, I have to select v62 of 1.4.5 to open it with sELedit.

You are most likely using v63, as in the chinese release(or rather all 145 releases available publically). only a handful of us have v62 PWI files.
Use the v63 config to edit your elements data as it will better serve you in way of expressed fields etc and compatibility.
As i often find myself reminding the new generation of PW developers, remember to set the profession of the furnace in question, use the search facility and you should see an old post i made regarding this. Furnaces/crafting facilities can be set to either blacksmith, tailor, jewellery or misc(which i personally use to create craft lists based on multiple craft item categories).
Hope that helps.

Ah alright, looking it up now, does it explain about the test server thing as well?
Re: Setting up a test server for v62 1.4.5
For your test server, i would advise you make use of either a dedicated machine such as a spare laptop/computer or employ a virtualisation solution such as VMware(i persoanally have used VMware for several projects including work related, however some use virual box. just search around for one to suit your needs).
I assume you are aware of how to set up a pw server, thus i will shall advise you on use of a virtualised solution.
Create you virtual machine using the software chosen, set RAM level of the VM in accordance with your testing methods. i.e 4GB for daemons + world map + one or two smaller maps may be acceptable.
I personally host a test server on my workstation and assign 12GB.
With the virtual machine set up, follow basic instructions for the installation and configuration of the server files. For you base OS i would opt for CentOS as PW was optimised for RedHat systems, however most use Ubuntu as it is easier for newcomers to the Linux platform.

Just let it go. Its nothing to worry about. I can assure you its fine.
I wont say anymore since its not my place to say and I don't believe matters like this belong here on Ragezone.
