well the guy made a private server for lienage 2, and chinese police were informed, so he got arrested, and rz is the biggest pserver resource, so hence why I said blame it on rz :D
If he was Chinese then he very likely got his server files somewhere else, you know being Chinese and all...
Yeah also the chinese are very protective of there games and stuff (such as doing raids on houses that host em n stuff. Don't really get that here... The most u will get is a cease and desist order.
well i think that mostly ppl from asia have their own supply of mmog stuff :-)

Where I am, the RCMP would first get the call, monitor the line from my area, then see if its true, then, they contact my ISP, to shut me down until I agree that it will not happen again. If it does, then they deny access for me for a while.
Although it never happened. Yet. But then again I don't run servers, I test them out, and such... you know ;)

but thing is, why arrest people if they run something which is not yours? im talking about server files, maybe he was using an emulator, hell, even emulators are not allowed in china thats how bad it is, but why? if its coded totally differently and in a different language AND it has no same code as originals xcpet that its using its original client, thats a different sotry but why arrest people?
It's hard to arrest someone or charge them for a Private server that was created by someone who monitored and programmed from Packet Info Oo.. I some time wonder..

Yeah i cant see how they could arrest you for it either. If your using a custom made server using entirly your own / freeware code then its not illegal. And as for the client... Well as far as i know that's entirly freeware anyway coz u can download it without getting carged for it. When you do it offically your simply paying for the service of there server. Not the game itself.... Or am i wrong?

thing is, server files are not copyrighted are they? they dont think abotu copyrighting them since theyre just gonna use them and think no one will, like for e.g. mir2, their server files were absouletly SHIT, the GUI was messed up, the text etc, <- they wont bothor to copyright that, hence why Game network didnt do anythin to MentaL and his team, they were jus bullshitting, but I wanna see what game network does in china, probaly arrest the guy even tho their server files are not copyrighted.

First of all GN couldn't do anything against RZ, GN was like RZ just users of the serverfiles, GN paid for their product, it would be like if you had a paid WinXP and you would sue someone who has a illegal version.Quote:

Anyway in order to legally use the LoM2 server files you have to pay a yearly fee to WeMade, although i'm not 100% sure if we could even do that as GN probably has some exclusive deal, aka that they are the only ones who can run a server in Europe and America.
