[Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
Well, as a addicted and lovable gamer, I thought about starting a gaming channel because it seems great - socializing, communicating to people around the world, viewers in YT that might be yours and subscribers .. etc ..
And as I've saw to those successful commentators on YT, have a good business. I just want to have many friends, became popular by being a successful one like whiteboy7thst. But I'd like to know what are the requirements, and stuff like that in starting a gaming channel. I planned to start doing this, in the middle or after my college but first of, I'd like to know how to start in.
So, if some of you guys here can help me by giving useful and detailed information about this. Please let me know, by sharing them and I'll highly appreciate that.

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
Firstly you'll want a Desktop capable of playing almost any game you want to talk about on high settings. You don't want your viewers to see your PC stuttering while playing a game. Secondly, you will need to have a nice, clear voice and speak very clearly. Listen to some guys on YT and you'll hear that they pronounce every word as clear as possible without sounding dumb of course. Thirdly, humour. You cannot have enough of it. Don't force it though. Lastly you'll have to keep practicing and repeating. You won't get it right the first time and you won't get it right the third time either. Regardless of the errors in your vids, keep on making and posting them. Eventually you'll get the hang of it and people will start liking, subscribing and recommending you. You can't expect to have a full featured Gaming Channel over night, obviously.
Good luck.

- Regularly upload videos

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
Unique content. There's nothing worse than going onto YouTube and searching for something and having 50+ channels all with a similarly related video.

I have an iMac which I think, it's better about video making/editing so it'll be fine for me. Actually, my voice is fine. American English, you can understand clear and easily what I'm actually saying when pronouncing or talking this language so there will be no problem about it. In this past 2 months and in the previous days, what I am doing is watching different and popular gaming channel in COD's and BF's that's why I thought about this which I think is a great and comfortable career in the feature. I know it'll not be easy to start a gaming channel but I think I can fight that with my patience.
Please read in the bottom of this post, to see what I'm really looking for this thread. Thanks.

1) Make friends and communicate to others, who're popular in YT gaming - that might help.
2) I watched a tut in YT how to make HD vid's so there's no problem with that.
3) Ofcourse, do what they want and basically community with them.
4) 3-5 vid's a week would be fine, in my opinion.

At first, I'll do recorded. Once the channel get smooth and easy in the way itself, I'll do live and maybe give some give aways as others do (who are really popular in channel of gaming).

The questions were all relevant as without knowing what you actually want to do it's impossible to suggest hardware and software that would be appropriate. I don't know if you intended it but you really sounded like an asshole asking people to apologise, I have half a mind to infract you for that.
Take that as my tip for running your channel - don't be an asshole to people and you will get more fans than if you are.

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
You need a good recorder, I would recommend a HD PVR, they are roughly £150, the reason for the price is because it records in 1080p, the one down from a HD PVR is the Roxio.
I have a Roxio but i would recommend a HD PVR if you want to get popular, as youtuber's want quality aswell

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
@exclamation - What are you talking about man? I'm trying to communicate properly with you guys, and now what you're trying to show? If I offended anyone, I apologise about it. Now, back to topic. Is there's any tips or stuff you can help me about it?
@Lewiss - Thanks for that man, really appreciate that. I have been told about the HD PVR that it's the best capture card in gaming but it's a big pain for my packet. I might give that, Roxio a try - any reviews about it or information you'd like to tell me?
Edit:
Watch the quality test of Roxio but it just not that good, what I'm looking for like the HD PVR. I think, the PVR is the only option I have and maybe get it one day (but not right now). I'll take a look a good PVR, that has a good quality, and good price 'not a high one'.

I think exy was talking about the bit in bold.
One of the things you need is humour you need to interact with your views even though they aren't there if you get what i mean, you need to make it sound like your talking to them. Make your channel unique and update. Play games which you want to play, its never good when someone is playing a game which they hate. Most importantly you need to stay dedicated to this and don't give up if it doesn't go well at the start and hardly anyone watches.

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
Well if it was hardware, then you have a few options.
Roxio Game capture - Records 480p, but allows you to play in 720 and 1080p. $100
HD PVR - Most common for those who have well off channels. Play and record in 1080p. They created a new version called the Gaming Edition which comes with all you need. $200
Elgato Game Capture - Not to many have these, but its a great piece of hardware. Comes with everything you need to start recording. $200
aVerTV DVR - Can be used same as all listed. You will need to buy the additional cables if you don't have them already. $180
These prices are based of Amazons seller list. Though different venders result in different prices.

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
Can I suggest either:
Hauppauge HD PVR USB Hi-def H.264 Video Capture Device, high Definition USB 2.0 Video Capture With Hardware H.264 Video Encoders: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
or:
Elgato Game Capture HD
The latter being my preferred decision.
The thing you don't want to do is spend hundreds of pounds on equipment, and finding out that you aren't getting the feedback you want and that all of a sudden this gaming channel isn't for you. Try the cheapest alternatives.

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
I would just recommend the hd pvr, The Roxio lacks quality when recording...
I recorded a bit of test footage from FIFA 12 and you cannot read the writing on the screen.

However the prices of the HD PVR too the Roxio
HD PVR = £139
Roxio = £61
So thats over double the amount so its depending on how much he wants to spend if he wants good quality then he is going have to pay more for the quality or get a not as good quality for alot less price.
Prices found on Amazon.co.uk, may vary on other sites

Re: [Help] Start a Gaming Channel - Youtube
You don't need any HDPVR bullshit.
You need in-game recording. XSplit records locally, does the job well. + It can stream live, once you get enough fans.
If you want to have a good game channel, you need non-accent, non-ball-squeeky, non-deep-smokers voice. You also need a better english than what you got now. Last thing you need, is your fans calling you "illiterate, go back to school.."
