How do they do it ?

I was thinking about it today and thought it might be somthing good too post on here. My parents when I was a bit younger knew I was into Pokemon cards, when I was at school I tried and tried too beg people for cards and then somone gave me some eventually I had enough too trade this guy for the best card and he wouldnt trade me it. I was very very disappointed and when I got home I was astounded when my mum said "I know youve had your heart set on these soo here you go!" and gave me a pack and I opened and there it was the card which I was looking for all that time.

My question is how do they do it ? Maybe its just luck.

I've had something similar to you, was about pokemon cards too lol. They were very popular about 4-5 (not sure) years ago. I was feeling very ill one day which stopped me from going to school. It was 4:30 when my mothers boyfreind came back from work, he brought me back a packet of pokemon cards and surprisinly it had the card I wanted (think it was shiny charizard or something like that lol)

But yeah, pokemon was teh win back in the days!

Sweet merciful crap... I've wasted so much money on trading cards. Pokemon, Digimon, Dragonball Z (yes... even DBZ had a fucking trading card game) and Yu Gi Oh. I've probably wasted $2000+ on trading cards...

Tbh it's better to be addicted to card games then to smoking.

Personally i got quite a lot of Pokemon cards and DragonballZ, they are all still in perfect condition, i got all cards from the first series of Pokemon cards, got a bunch from second and third, and also a lot of really rare cards, promo and stuff like that, same with DBZ cards, got lots of them all also in perfect condition.

It's all worth quite a lot really.

Anyway i pretty much stopped about 3 years ago.

this thing used to sell for 100 USD... i found it in a 7$ japanese special edition pack and now its the only card ive kept... the rarest one in the world lol

I got like 40-50 shinies, some really rare ones too. Back then I thought it would be worth a lot like 1 year later, but eventually my addictiveness wore off and I forgot about it, now it's probably worth like 5 cents each just for the plastic/paper.

I must have made a couple hundred dollars selling those pokemon cards back when they were popular.

only pokemon card i had was Pikachu and i brought that for 20p of someone:D

lol yeah i still have all my pokemon cards in like a card binder thing. They're basically lost and forgotten about but i think they might be worth something someday. :D

tbh i only spent like 200 dollars total on those things, i got most of mine playing for decks, like street racing for pinks at those tournaments and stuff.

plus i knew the principle at my school, i got so many cards that i moved from a little cardboard pokemon box (held like 300 cards) to a roller suitcase with 2 of those, 2 binders (1 sale binder and 1 collection binder), 2 decks and my spare cards grab bag (.25 each)

every tournament id walk out with another deck or 2 (if the person agreed to the deck rule) and i would gain about 80 bucks from selling cards, then id go and buy boosters...

also i knew the principle at my school and he hooked me up with at least 1 thousand cards that he took from kids at school.

i estimate that if the average card is worth .50 cents, i have about 3grand worth of cards somewhere.

i also placed in like the top 100 in the queen mary tournament or somethign like that, out of the 3 million players in the world i was rated at like #132, not bad if i do say so myself :D

but tbh, its so fucking embarassing when i look back at it...

Yea, still can't see what I went mad over :eh: their pieces of fucking card lol! But yea I wanted this hero clix thing and I wanted this guy my freind had my mum bought me a booster and poooof! I got it! and it was a veteran! not a noob class lmao.

Nah, there was 1 that was given when you went to the movie or something, aka not rare at all, but i got a couple of different ones, different images etc.

yeah i have that one too.... its not rare at all... but its just that u cant get it anymore

You can't get a lot of cards, but it's like with cars from 1985, you might not be able to buy them new anymore, but they still aren't worth shit.

Anyway i got 1 set of 9 cards that is worth about 500 euro, they are extremely rare cards that were released before the new pokemon stuff came (they are the 152-160 pokemons), a friend of mine bought it from someone who got them somehow for 45 euro, he sold all his cards later, but because no one would pay what they were worth or what he paid for it he decided to give them to me, all in perfect condition.

I truely don't know what to do with them all, i'm not the type of person who sells his old stuff, i guess unless i bump into a collecter who will pay serious money that i will just keep them, i can't be bothered to sell it for a few euro.

no u r talking about the anctient mew... im talking about the japanese version hologram rainbow mew, which could not be obtained from movies, only from japanese packs and there was a very very small chance you could find one in there... 1 to 10,000 i think...
