Re: Problem With Decomposing
Try decomposing at DSP blacksmith.
Re: Problem With Decomposing
I gave it a try but no change, I didn't think it would but at least I know for sure, I'm thinking now maybe it wont decompose because the ID is above a certain limitation. Haven't been able to find any files that list IDs for the decompose service. I need some sleep, I'll test my theory tomorrow.
Re: Problem With Decomposing
That theory could be very correct (sorry I have no real clue what this could be as decomping is something I've never messed with on private PW). If it's anything like GSHOP, it wont like too big of item ID numbers. I think that was something like 30,000; so certainly if it's over 30,000 try something lower... May just work...
Re: Problem With Decomposing
Got round to changing the IDs to ones lower then 30K but this didn't solve the problem either. Thought maybe I would add them to webtradeid.txt just in case that had anything to do with it but no luck there either.
Re: Problem With Decomposing
I cannot definitively be of any help but, thinking of it (without being able to check since I'm not at my 'dev' pc), I think there is a line in elements that will denote whether it is able to be decomposed or not (and a few other lines in regard to what item number it will decomp into, and how many of said item, how long the decomp process takes)... So, make sure everything that has to do with decomping is set up in elements.data for your items =\
Aside that, I cannot think of anything that would be preventing your item(s) from decomposing.
add: and although I haven't messed with decomposing on my test/build server, I do remember that you have to go to the correct NPC type to get your decomp done. EX: Say you want a weapon decomposed, you MUST do so at a Blacksmith (you would NOT be able to do it at a tailor). Or say you wanted an armor piece decomposed, you would HAVE to do it at a tailor, etc... ... ...
Re: Problem With Decomposing
I've already been through elements.data and tried those fields. It was the first thing I did, the weird thing is the weapons are clones of existing ones only thing I changed on them was the item they decomposed to, socket chances and addon chances. It was definately a blacksmith I went to when trying to decompose. I may have been a bit wasted at the time but I'm pretty sure the man with a big box in front of him and a hammer is the blacksmith haha :D:
Strange thing is I can add it to the blacksmith and the items it decomposes too shows but the level for the decomposing doesn't show. Maybe there is something server side that controls it, I've only been looking client side so far.
Re: Problem With Decomposing
Did you craft the item, or pick it up from a drop, or buy it from a NPC or gshop, or just 'hex' it in to the character XML? I don't know that it matters but I am just curious how exactly your character acquired the item. Though I really don't think that should matter in relation to the ability to decompose it though =\
Re: Problem With Decomposing
I spawned a load of commanders from wraith invasions and got them via drop. I don't like using hex, used it once just for fun but I'd rather have items that are physically in the game. The only way to get these weapons is from the commanders.
Re: Problem With Decomposing
Hmm, I'm running out of thoughts on the matter =\
Perhaps you could try creating an NPC that uses decompose type 2099 (instead of 3574 3575 or 3576), and try that? Although it is to my understanding if that were to work for you, then the character performing the decomposition would not need any skill and/or it wouldn't have a requisite skill level (ie blacksmith lv2) to decompose?!?! I remember looking at ALL NPC's and NONE (of the active) NPC's actually use this type, if I remember right it was set for a few of the 'test' NPC's in the "test area", but no 'active' NPCs... So I take it there is no existing "recipe" for this item you're trying to decomp? Though it wouldn't make much sense to (me anyway), to need a recipe in order to be able to decomp =\ I would try one of or both of those random thoughts of mine, try making an NPC that uses decomp 2099, and or create a recipe for the item (just because you make a recipe doesn't mean you have to add it to a crafting NPC/forge )...
Aside that, sorry I have no definitive answer, but I tried throwing out things that popped into my head... Hopefully something either works or triggers a thought in your own head :):
ADD:
The item isn't bound is it - I know you cannot decomp bound items either... ... ...

Thanks for reminding us, I almost forgot, that is another thing you have to do before you can decompose :):

The weapons were fully repaired when I tested this and were clones of original 3 star weapons and I made sure I had the right crafting level to decompose them. I'm wondering if maybe there is a separate list of items that can be decomposed using the decompose service?
i think they were already repaired

I had stopped re-reading the first post and was just trying to think of what could be prohibiting him from being able to decompose... So, good eye ya got there...

1.3.6 required a repair directly before decomp, for some stupid reason
Re: Problem With Decomposing
I will give the recipe idea a go, that actually makes sense. The items were fully repaired when I tried to decompose them and no they were not bound, their proctype is 0 and they were not bound in game either.

export the item and share please? (or pm it to me if you don't want to publicly share it, that's perfectly fine too)
