I seriously doubt we have seen the true extent of what American and it's allies can do when it comes to all out war. I believe it's often quoted that the front line uses tech which is 5+ generations out of date. If it did come to all out war with the middle east you can bet that production line would go into overdrive.
What worries me is if every country has fail safes in case the country falls. You can damn well be sure if America was wiped out, all life on Earth would be wiped out.
Seriously it is in their best interest not to fuck with the west. But I guess the problem is that they don't care about death if they are so sure they are going to heaven...
There is something interesting to watch on the news then, The western allies destroy Iran, Iran does not really understand NATO's military power, We may co operate with international treaties, but when NATO get the chance to fuck over a country it will do.
Bad move for Iran, an attack on one is an attack on all, NATO on their asses if they do attack US bases.
Everybody seems to think North Korea & Iran are the biggest threats since they have nuclear weapons. Only when China and Russia kick off, that's a sign of trouble, nuclear war and that's when you should be afraid. Afaik, they'll stick up for eachother when it comes down to that - Then it'll turn bad.

We have thousands more Nuclear Warheads than any other Country has, if it came down to it.

The US is the leading superpower right now, we use about 3 times as much Oil than the next
leading Country in Oil consumption does, where do you think all that oil is being used? War machines.
I honestly kinda chuckled at there little threat, we've had confrontations with Iran before.
Guess who came out on the winning side? If all else fails, and they DO somehow do any
critical damage or anything that's worth a retaliation, I'm sure Obama has that little

Like Robert said, they're not scared. Never have been, not saying it'll be wise, but saying "bring it" isn't either. Both side will lose people over it, and im sure the US will do their best to avoid this. Iran's military is strong aswell, and not everyone is safe under US's radars.
Also note, this wouldn't be like Afgan where America wanted to have a war and the rest of it's allies were like sigh...
If Iran declared war, it wouldn't be a matter of getting everyone's consent to do anything. If they start, all America's allies will jump on board to defend it.
Plus the defence treaty they have with China/Russia? Yeah, that's a defence treaty, if Iran attacks first, why would they join in? They've only agreed to help if America invades. I'm sure neither nation would be happy about being pulled into it, I know I wouldn't.

It's not even a matter of who will win a war of such scale if it actually happens, Robert. Like you said, the USA is backed up by many countries, and even if China and Russia step in its still hard to draw a definite winner, but, imagine all the damage a war of such scale implies, WW2 would be child play in comparison, it will imbalance the world so hard it will take centuries to recover. Some people need to stop and actually think who will lose after such a war.

Not only that, but again, as already mentioned, we're in massive debt to China. So why would they attack us? If they kill us, they wouldn't get their money. As for America going down hill, I think you will find that the majority of the world is in recession currently. But they are still essentially on the top of the pile. They have a huge amount of resources at there disposal.

America might be in debt, but let's think what Debt actually means. They owe other countries money, for which they have gained resources. If China went to war with USA, that debt would effectively be wiped, America would have gotten all that stuff for nothing. Debt isn't a bad thing if you don't have to pay it back.
We aren't talking about Israel attacking Iran, we are talking about Iran attacking USA military bases. Again I will post this link:

USA has no defensive pact with Israel. If Israel is attacked/attacks Iran, America could choose to join in, but they are under no obligation to do so (like those countries who have a defensive pact with America). Doing so would mean Irans allies would have to defend them, and thus it wouldn't be in Americas best interest to do so.
USA hasn't declared war on Iran. Sanctions are there to stop them doing shit they shouldn't be done, and it's undertaken by more than the USA alone. If they had declared war, again Irans allies would have something to say about that.
If ww3 is started, it won't be by the west's instigation. We have been through this before in the cold war, and we know mutually assured destruction is a bad thing. China and Russia have quite clearly said they won't stand for us attacking first, so we simply won't. But if you think the US will simply lie down and take its military bases getting bomb, that isn't going to happen.

Because it is a small step between a nuclear program and nuclear weapons. If a country is actively threatening America or it's defensive allies (if you threaten its allies, you threaten America!) then can you really blame them for not wanting them to have nuclear weapons?
There is no real reason for countries to need nuclear power. Hell Japan is actively getting rid of all its nuclear power stations. It's simply not an argument to be had, the only reason they want nuclear material is so they can weaponise it. The less countries that have these weapons, the better. They don't need them for defence, they already have China and Russia in defensive pacts. The only reason for Iran to have nuclear weapons is so they can attack countries with them.
As for country leaders? Do you really think they have that much power? They simply don't, for a law to be passed it has to be agreed upon by a LOT of people. Iirc the presidents biggest power is the ability to veto a law after it has been passed by congress. But I'm not an expert on US law, so don't quote me. My personal issue with world leaders is they are all ridiculously rich people, purely because to get elected you need a silly amount of money to campaign. But yeah it's pointless hating a single leader, when it's countless people supporting them from Senators or Financiers.
