Remote Server Use

Recently I enquired about my server being hosted at a datacenter however the datacenter is in a different state. I'm wondering how I would need to enable the server to have it run remotely.

Would SSH be the best way to have remote access or would I be better off running the server on Windows XP and using a specific program? Does SSH give complete control to the computer?

Is remote access to the database sufficient for updating to newer versions of L2J?

Can I remotely defrag the computer?

Is this a bad idea in case I need a hardware upgrade or a new hard disk drive?

Plz someone let me know if this is a good idea (its quite expensive), the maximum connection I can get from home is 1.5meg adsl.

Man seriosly why do you want to rent a datacenter for starting an L2j Server :D , it supports like 200-300 ppl withouth lagg , after that number better to lay down :D iff you wanted to start a OFF Server i would not have Replied to you :D , it's better to keep L2j Server on you're PC .

Ok kool, what sort of net connection would I need for the 200-300 people?

hmm i would use my 2mb/2mb sdsl line, i think it would be enought since it wont transferr data even 1kb/s/user and 2mb out going line can send 230kb/s.

So for 200+ user 2mb line.
