He needs to open ports on his router before you can connect to it, if you're using 343's release then you will need to open port 8443 although it isn't recommended opening ports like that without protecting them before hand.
Yes, I Cannot stress Enough, DO NOT open port 8443
Look in to ANY VPN solutions before you consider opening port 8443 (if using my release).
//offtop I'm changing that for my big pending release/update, there will no longer be two installations of tomcat (no reason for it other than I didn't know much about tomcat when I made the first release, I now know how to limit access to pwAdmin from localhost (or LAN) ONLY so only ONE tomcat will be necessary :D:) So, also look forward to that upcoming ~ likewise in the future update I would not recommend opening pwAdmin to outside the LAN.
Possible solutions are a hardware VPN (though unless you guys already have one I don't see you buying any components just for PW/pwAdmin ), other possible solutions are just VPN or 'remote access' 'programs' like:
- TeamViewer
- Free VPN
- PuTTy
- UltraVNC
- U-LAN
- VPNx
- (and as much as it SUCKS)~Hamachi
I would try ANY of those before asking him to open pwAdmin to the world! fair warning ~ *WARNING* If you open pwAdmin to the world (WAN) you're almost guaranteed to "get hacked", just so you know... ... ...
