rita was a category five (the strongest recorded category five in history i might add) while it was overseas due to the record-highs the united states has been having (110 farenheight in autumn!) which were strengthening the storm.

when it hit land it was a category 3, and slowing losing strength because of the changing temperatures. however, due to those temperatures there is now a high pressure area that is in effort trapping rita from moving. so rita is stuck right over my area and now theres a flash flood warning here for the next four days -_-

as for the flooding, the rain has gotten a lot worse in the past two hours as the storm moves closer to my region, its directly in its projected path. last i heard, the creek where i live (i'm in a rural town / its not even on the map / we're not even considered a town, but a community) is up a few inches and will probably rise some more.

the last time the creek rose there was a massive flood all the way to Hot Springs (a city nearby that used to be bigger than Vegas) and a whole lot of buildings were destroyed, and considering this is only the first day and its already risen a few inches and its supposed to rain for five days straight, its probably going to flood quite a bit.

well imagine if ppl care about it, that the two lanes of the freeways, one for goin out the othe r1 to go in the state, both of them were used to go out of the state.
