GUIDE

I have already installed these 2 programs:
MSSQL 2008 R2
Download page
-Follow this guide!
Install and Configure SQL Server 2008 Express | Symantec Connect Community
Install in Default Instance (not Named!!!!) and Mixed authenctication! (this will be a sa's password) - AkiSora's guide

Oracle Virtual Box

If after running command "./cabal_install.sh" in Putty you get error or can't continue do next:
1.Double click the file cabal_install.sh in WinSCP /root directory
2.Go to line number 50
3.Delete "wget --directory /root -N http://dev.extornia.com/.bash_profile"
4.Save and close
5.Restart installation by typing command "./cabal_install.sh" in Putty

After everything is done do next:
1.Forward Ports 38100-38200
2.Turn off all firewalls/antivirus
3.Turn off UAC
4.Type in terminal: service cabal stop
5.Type in terminal again: service cabal stop
6.Type in terminal: service cabal start
7.Type in terminal again: service cabal start
8.Use CentOS IP in Internal.txt to connect to your server
Patch download HERE

After all this you still can't connect ? Then try this:
Download Modified Server Files by AkiSora LINK
Extract modified files into somewhere your windows and edit:
--etc/odbc.ini
MSSQLIP = Your MSSQL Server IP adress (3x each WorldSvr!!! If u forgot some, then you can't connect into channel!)
--etc/cabal/
---AuthDBAgent.ini, CashDBAgent.ini, DBAgent_01.ini, EventDBAgent.ini, GlobalDBAgent.ini, PCBangDBAgent.ini
MSSQLUSER = Your MSSQL user name, (default: sa)
MSSQLPW = Your MSSQL password
--WorldSvr_01_0x.ini x=1,2,3...
CENTOSIP = Your CentOS Ip

CHECK EVERYTHING TRICE !!!

-Now copy these files into CentOS
-Replace everything
-Type into terminal
service cabal stop
service cabal stop
service cabal start
service cabal start

GOOD LUCK AND BE PATIENT

P.S. If some services stops working then start them manually:
service ChatNode_01 start
service AgentShop_01 start
service WorldSvr_01_01 stop
service WorldSvr_01_01 start

Why Not Use Win7?!...

You can install in XP and 2003 but you need,

.NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Windows Installer 4.5
Windows PowerShell 1.0

Windows PowerShell 1.0 but when ill click install already ! is auto close the installation pls help im using XP SP3 thnx i cant install SQL 2008 r2 :(

Why Not Use Win7?!...

That Will Save You From All Of That Installers...

You Will Just Need To Install .NET Framework 4...

And Follow Every Step By Step Of This Video And Any Other Tutorials,... Before I Had This Server Working I Had Tons And Tons Of Errors I Almost Give Up But Still Move On...

ok, i fixed it i just type local host not local and entered by user, i have next problem , this database is compatibile wity 10.50.1600.1 and i have 10.0.1600 you know how to upgrade it?

Redo Everything From Installing CentOS Up To Setting Up The Server Files...

You Should Be Getting Good Results...

And The IP You Said Should Be On By Default 127.0.0.1 Not .6 I Dunno If That Could Also Work But .1 Is The Default Of Localhost...

I make what you say but i dont know what i have my centos ip dont exist i dont set ip ... because in video dark dont set ip ...

i can login to my server but when i try to connect to channel nothing happens

GUYS . Go to cmd>write>ipconfig /all search>ip4 adress > this is the mssql ip

I made my cabal working but few words for me:

1) if u checked centOS ip, and u cant connect to this IP by winscp, try shutdown centOS and start it, log in to root , check again IP if its same as before, try connect now by winscp if fail, try reconnect, if fail again, try restart centOS, and should be ok
2) if u cant connect by putty, close terminal, and open again, should work
3) when u write service cabal config, at Enter IP for players to connect - if u dont need to make it fullt online, and juts for ur use or local network only, try write there ip of ur centOS.
4) after u write service cabal start, if u cant connect try few times write service WorldSvr_01_01 stop , and start, and stop, and start, few times, than u should log in without problem
5) in client (i used simp cabal and work great), dont forget to make Internal.txt file in DATA folder, and root folder ( and IP there of centOS) , and bat file use with breaklee

I still dont know how to change rates and add gm but soon I will try to find it out. Hope my post can help people who still didnt made own server of cabal ep8 :) if u had problems write to me here, or at my skype: jozef.pawelec

Well maybe you can help us with the invisible channel problem, because few of us we have this problem.

I turned off windows firewall
CentOS firewall is turned off
Ports are opened

The channel has appear one time but he disappeared, after that the channel never appeared again.
I deleted all logs and try again to start the server, but the channel still doesn't appear.
PS: The WorldSvr_01_08 is working, but i can't do nothing with because is NationWar.

Paul,do u setup the server to VPS? if yes i have the same problems ! ;)

I've setup it on Oracle VM Virtual BOX.
PS: The channel is appear but when you double click it to enter on the channel he disappear.

i got a problem while installing CentOS 6.3 on Oracle VM VirtualBox so i need to use CentOS 5.8? on my Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E4600 @2.4GHz, RAM : 2GB, operation system : Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

have u tried in putty:

service WorldSvr_01_01 stop
service WorldSvr_01_01 start

3-4 times, and than go to client, try put login and passwd (if fail to connect the server, try again) ?

and u sure that in service cabal config , in ip for players u wrote centOS ip ?

I have the same router as u basically and i did everything in your video. The ports are forwarded. I loaded up centos. But yet the ports are still blocked? I even checked Enabled. Disabled UAC and firewall

I start Virtualbox and there is no CentOS on the left side.

How do i install CentOS? I downloaded both DVDs but there is no setup.exe, autorun or something. :/



EDIT: I figured it out how to install CentOS into VirtualBox, the problem is, i followed a youtube guide and he ticked "Virtualization" at those extras (under Server / SERVER GUI) but i didin't have Virtualization. Is that a problem ?
EDIT2: Everything is okay till the part with WinSCP.. i always get a connection time out. What could the problem be? Everything went flawlessly.

Some of your services are not running correctly, dont have a connection to mssql or are blocked by firewall.

If Winscp times out it means the IP is incorrect or blocked, configure the IP in CentOS.
