Skype chat dead.
Brilliant. I was waiting for you to recreate your chat for Skype's controversial group-settings. Since I've already got you on Skype, I will message you about this in a moment. Thanks again for this, Moots.
Will this end up like the MSN group? If so, no thanks.
If this actually turn into a proper discussion group where FlyFF is the subject, then yes.
Are new developers who don't know much but are actively trying to learn welcomed, or are they going to be shunned because they don't know as much?
I would presume that if you can provide a good "I would like to join the Flyff Developer Chat because...(reason)" then you would be accepted.
You'd just get blocked or something if people felt like you had a negative impact on the chat. But if you feel that you have a reason to join, then that probably wouldn't be the case anyways.
The entire purpose of this group isn't to help anyone else, it's to inspire ideas and stimulate discussion on future systems and/or any future development that needs to occur to keep FlyFF progressing. So, in answer to your question, I doubt anyone will be "shunned" from the group. Everyone puts something unique on the table, and this group will just help all of us to piece together our ideas and suggestions.
It's a developer chat; however, if you need help we'll supply such aid. Though, it's more of a brain-storming center.
I almost don't see why it would even matter if we went off topic. Can't developers enjoy small talk among each other?
In my head, I had what I actually wanted to say perfect, but I guess when I typed it out, I mixed thoughts together and created that question. My original question was suppose to be more of ideas being shunned rather than development skill, although the last sentence of the original post clears that question up. Nevertheless, I appreciate you answering that for me.
Of you can enjoy small talks, but small talks ain't spamming things that make no sense, it's highly annoying for all those who ain't chatting there at that moment to get lots of popups about things that doesn't even matter.
Going off topic where you still have an propper discussion is fine, spamming "weed", "your mom" and other things like that for about a thousand times is quite annoying.
Off topic is fine by me, but the last group turned into a complete off topic chat without any discussion regarding FlyFF or development for that matter. In all honest I was just annoyed by that group, simply because it was so much spam about things I couldn't care less about. Regardless, off topic is fine by me, as long as there are some on topic discussions.
I am glad skype has the /alertsoff feature, else the spam would kill me.
Im joining in :3
