Durango 'Xbox 720' Dev Kit crops up on eBay once again.
Hello, today I was looking around and I came across this.
Quote:
Quite a few months back, the seller DaE listed Durango alpha tower on eBay.
But after some time, DaE has put another tower back up on eBay yet again. Listing some of the details of the specs - with the message on his twitter "Last chance to own a piece of next-gen gaming history!"
Here are the specs which are listed on the eBay page:
Processor Type: 8-core 64-bit CPU
Processor Speed: 1.6 GHz
Hard Drive Capacity: 500 GB
Memory: 8GB
Primary Drive: BR 50G
Other sources believe the Durango tower he is selling may actually be authentic.
For those who do not know what the Durango is, it is the next generation Xbox which is still awaiting announcement. This is NOT what the console will look like either. This is called an Alpha Tower. It is in no way close to a final product.
Here is the link to the eBay listing if you want to check it out.
Durango PC | eBay
The previous Durango alpha tower he was selling eventually sold for $20,100. He is currently in talks with someone attempting to sell it at $3,000.
Jesus, in all honestly, the amount some people pay to get the Alpha version of the next generation Xbox.
What do you think about it being authentic?

if its authentic then it will sell a lot as its a part of history
Re: Durango 'Xbox 720' Dev Kit crops up on eBay once again.
It says it's at $20K right now...wow

No pics? Then how do we know what we're buying? I could go and list myself with a similar username and sell an "alpha tower" and make a boatload of money...

And if it's fake, they will use the long distance sellers agreement legislation to return it to you, at your cost. So you will have wasted the money on x2 postage for no gain. Plus you'd probably also be reported to the police for fraud, so you might get arrested too.

Touché. I'm just wondering though, it doesn't seem very legit...

you know this new thing called marketing, well MS are trying to do something different, no one will ever find/buy/get it ever
if they do its something that doesn't function and is not new xbox or something compliantly useless.

The selling of dev kits is questionable, if not completely illegal (if I were MS/sony/Nintendo, I'd make a contract that I still own it, therefore you are selling my property). Thus it's obviously going to be a shady business, and thus probably always won't seem legit.

wouldnt MS be like your cut off, now...i duh?
Re: Durango 'Xbox 720' Dev Kit crops up on eBay once again.
There was a similar instance with Xbox's before...guy put up one for sale while they were on backorder during Christmas shopping time...in the description he wrote one time very discretely that it was a box and had a picture of just the box on the auction....someone paid like thousands of dollars and was sent just an empty box. Guy got away with it simply because people were bidding before they read the description...
It's all in the wording...and this doesn't say anything about it being an Alpha 720...I definitely wouldn't bid.

Depends where he is getting them from I guess. If he's stealing them from a large studio, and they are just saying they lost them, MS would probably keep sending them out purely because not doing so would mean less games on the system.

I guess it depends on the country, in the UK (and possibly EU?) we have the long distances sellers agreement, which basically means you can send stuff back to the seller for a complete refund, plus the cost of your postage. Most online sellers hate it because it gives customers a lot of power, I've used it a few times.
