Setting Alternate Textures to Models -- Clothing
Good morning, guys.
As of late, I have been feverishly working on a texture for a custom CS set. I have *finally* completed it, after about 3 or 4 days, and tried to implement it last night. Here is what I did first.
I added the items in all the files that I needed to (PropItem, DefineItem, etc). But, the MdlDyna seems to be what's giving me the largest hassle. On my first attempt, I copied a few lines in the MdlDyna and changed them to match my custom items accordingly. Instead of messing around with the Model, I simply assumed that you could use the same model as another item and just set an alternate texture to it, much like how FlyFF does with some of its monsters.
So, I changed ATEX_NONE to ATEX_01, and ended the texture files with -01. Now, I'm not even sure if this is right syntax, and this was all clearly experimental. Needless to say, it didn't work. Instead of showing the alternate texture, it used the default ones instead.
On my second attempt, I got my hands on an o3d to obj (and back) converter. Seemed to work great, until I tested my set in-game. My CS set was 'Stiff as a Board' and didn't move along with my character. So now, I am stuck, and have come in search of guidance in one way or another. Any light you guys could shed on this would be *greatly* appreciated! :)
Thanks in advance!

Use one of the o3d converters / viewers and rename o3d, assign the new texture, save it, etc. The o3d to obj converter that you used must not support the vertex crap.
Also, try using ATEX_USE or skipping that one.

I tried doing that, but it didn't work. After using both of the converters that I found, my character's clothing was visible in-game, but the clothing itself wouldn't move with my character .. It just kind of stayed there as if it was stiff. Something happens to the models during conversion, I think. Since Weapons don't move with the character, in most cases, you don't notice the "Stiffness" with them. Thanks for the advice, though. :)
