Firefox OS - What are your thoughts?

Mozilla’s Firefox OS, the mobile operating system from the company that makes the Firefox browser build entirely on open web standards and having ability to beat Android or iOS. Firefox OS is Mozilla's ambitious attempt to build an operating system that brings more openness to the walled gardens of Apple's iOS and Google's Android.

New Operating Systems for Smartphones
Its a new mobile operating system built entirely using open web standards and with codename Boot to Gecko, means a Linux distro that automatically loads Gecko or in more simple words apps for Firefox OS are basically just websites written in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Pretty amazing stuff hey? It looks really promising. I wonder which phones would run that? Would android phones (HTC, etc) be able to run that? I dont think firefox would start producing phones.

Have to admit I'm not impressed with it at first glance, the UI makes it look like a children's "My First Smartphone" :P:

UI is sort of similar to iPhone, BUT, my guess since it's firefox OS and browser is firefox too, it's going to have flash?

Gotta agree with Nick on this one. The UI does look quite childish, although I imagine it can be customized to a minimal limit?

I have to say that Firefox OS has a nice looking theme and seems like it will be very popular upon release and best of all, it will be open source!
