EA Adding Microtransactions To All Future Games.
Electronic Arts are adding microtransactions into all future games.
Basically, it's a way for them to get money when you're out of resources, tools, and so forth.

That image should just about define it. Run out of items or resources, you can buy them.

Link to official statement?
If the game is free, I have no issue with microtransations. If I paid for the game, I fucking hate it. It's why I quit many MMOs when they try to double dip. I also blame the private server community for releasing the plague that is microtransations!
DLC I haven't fully decided upon, it depends on how much it adds really, some are bullshit priced when you consider all the art assets and background systems are already made.

Lost the original link, but here's an IGN article.

EA are always so quick to try and make more money from their customers, yet as SimCity's launch has shown, they don't always deliver the best online playing experience.

i think it ment to say; NEVER deliver the best online playing experience.
Re: EA Adding Microtransactions To All Future Games.
I don't mind microtransactions to benefit you in some form, be it increase in resource, booster packs, etc., all of which are not necessary nor mandatory, but I'm 100% against the need to pay for DLCs and content... which is.

As far as DLC goes - it depends for me.
The only times I do/would purchase DLC is for a new kits in a sports game. I'm a huge fan of rugby league, for instance, which doesn't have a lot of titles.
I would rather pay for DLC/add-ons with smaller, independant companies.
