I'd like to have like a device that records all my dreams, then when i wake up i'd watch all my cool dreams, how epic would that be, huh?! Damn right it'd be freaking epic.
No need for movies anymore, god knows how fucked up they can be sometimes, plus you can interpret them way easier.
Virtual world across the Internet like a projection of yourself where you could almost touch another person or literally 'visit' a chatroom or shop using a virtual self. I know they are trying to work towards it but be brilliant if I could finally use such an invention. ^^
Holopads that you see in essentially every sci-fi film as a means of communication. Would be a much more fun and interactive Skype!

Pretty much everything out of star trek, gate and wars, firefly, babylon 5, BSG, farscape, andromeda etc. Essentially space ships for the public with the ability to reach other planets. Anything extra would be a bonus, teleporters/replicators/holodecks etc
The Matrix to exist, and for myself to have root access and the ability to code it, kinda like Neo but with complete powers and not have to follow a plot line. This is probably one of the easier things to achieve as all it requires is for us to trick our nervous system, which we are slowly learning to do anyway.
Nano bots would also be wicked cool too. It'd basically enable replicators as you could quite easily build stuff out of carbon, and for it to be as strong as diamond.
Genetic manipulation of humans to be actually fully allowed would be cool. I see it as our next evolutionary step. No one would have to die of a genetic disorder ever again. I'm not sure how far I'd take it, but I see it as something every government would want to offer freely as it would extend peoples working life. Making a healthier and stronger society for everyone, as long as no one is left out, would be in everyone's best interests (at least for everyone in the next generation!). The only issue would be what to do with race, technically you could remove all racial problems instantly by having all offspring be genetically identical. It'd be a slippery slope, and is probably why genetic engineering is so frowned upon. Diversity for the sake of diversity vs the prejudices of people?
Full robotics would also be cool, and cybernetics to make sure we can't be overthrown by them. Probably can link into the matrix stuff, as well as genetic engineering. I seriously think the next logical step would be to grow brains for computers, because why not?
I want a Mech, none of those silly Japanese ones either!
The Space Shuttle, first jet powered fighter aircraft, the USS Ronald Reagan Aircraft Carrier, organic nano bots that destroy diseases, the LHC in Switzerland etc. the list goes on :P Mainly astronomical technology like satellites, aircraft, telescopes, etc. and badass military technology like fighter jets, aircraft carriers, etc.

I've always wished that I could have an invention that makes us forsee the future, rather than going to an unreliable tarot or psychics that claim things and earn shit loads of money from it. I want an invention that could help keep those with life-threatening illnesses alive, and if near enough dead such as in a coma, to bring them back to how they were and to have the ability to speak to their families at least before they die.
A device that lets you communicate with animals. I'd love to have a conversation with my dog.

Something like teleportation so people can get to places quicker. "Oh, school starts in 5 min? I'll just teleport there."
Probably a chair that has robotic hands that automatically responds to what I want it to do.
