Help for a beginner.

Hello all. I did not intend to post here, but I can't figure out some things on my own. So I was hoping one of you would be able to help out a beginner. I understand I'm probably going to get some hate (inb4 figure it out yourself/Google it) but I was hoping someone would be able to help~ Because trust me, I have already Googled the hell out of most of my problems and looked at every guide I could find.

Firstly, I don't plan on ever going 'public' with a private server looking for profit. This would be mine and my boyfriend's use only. I don't plan on 'leeching' or 'stealing ideas' either. All of the custom content I'd rather be my own. Creating outfits/skins/recolorations are something I can do on my own or with a bit of Google. Of course, if I could find all the Odin files and make them work, I would. That's just not my goal right now.

At the moment I'm trying to work with these files: here. I was following that guide and this guide as well. Now, you might be asking "what more does this girl want?" I'm actually having alot of trouble with SQL server.

At first I was using SQL Server 2008 express. When I got it all installed I noticed I didn't have management studio. So I downloaded and installed that and tried again. And, of course since I wasn't paying attention during installation I missed the server name. (I realize I could have Googled, but every answer I tried wasn't working. I only realized it was -right- in front of me much..much later)
I uninstalled and reinstalled. Following the .pdf guide I tried to restore the databases. However, whenever I tried it would get stuck on "Executing" the file. To my understanding, this isn't supposed to take a long time for it to restore. Google has failed to tell me my problem, and I can't find anything on the forums.
I saw other people using different versions of SQL server, so then I tried installing SQL server 2008 R2 express with Management studio. But, again, it got stuck on executing the file.

I honestly have no idea what to do with this. Should I uninstall the 2008 version and download 2012? Should I use different files (meaning Odin or Dusk or whatever else is floating around)? If someone would be willing to help me with these issues and possibly future issues (because I know I'll probably run into some ^^) let me know please. You can either post/pm or add me on skype. PM me for my skype name if you intend to help~ I'm honestly a fast learner and can pick up on things by myself easily. So I'm not asking to be spoon fed, just a little nudge in the right direction.

Anywho. Sorry for long post and thanks to everyone who made it this far. Hopefully one of you can help.

This is the SQL Server version you should be using: 32bit or 64bit.

Server Name should be ComputerName\SQLExpress, unless you changed it during the installation, which I doubt you did since you said you didn't pay attention to it. For example, my Servername is Shawie\SQLExpress.

On the old files, World00_Character may take some time to restore, just be patient. Oh, and I suggest wiping your computer, aka reformating your computer before installing SQL again.

Yeah, I figured out the server name after installing R2 thanks to the guide I was using.
But I'll try using that version, and try reformating. Thanks for the reply.
