Start with 343's Complete Package. His guide is based entirely around vmware usage. Search his thread for info(could probably just use the search term "vmware" and bunch of posts will pop up). This is where I started at and now I can install servers on my vmware in under 15 minutes.
Vbox is a pain in the ass if you don't understand sftp(one of the ways around the whole "image" issue)
God... tell me why so much people hate Vbox and prefer vmware...

And Then After That Change Your IP Network For Connecting To WInscp And Make Password Root Or Use Password From The Vbox
And Then Tranfer all Server File To Your Directory Windows
And Then Close Your Vbox If U Finish Transfer It
And Then Install Your VMWare And Change The Your IP Network , Public IP
And Follow This ::: Tutorial:
- Install ubuntu on your Vbox or dedicated:
- Commands:
# apt-get update
# apt-get install openssh-server
# apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
# apt-get install openjdk-6-jdk
# apt-get install apache2
# apt-get install mysql-server
# apt-get install php5
# apt-get install php5-mysql
# apt-get install php5-cgi
# apt-get install phpmyadmin
# apt-get install mc
# apt-get install unrar
# apt-get install ia32-libs (64 bits)
- Import pw.sql to phpmyadmin/mysql
- Skip the files to the linux server and configure the following files:
# etc/table.xml
# PWServer/glink/gamesys.conf
# PWServer/auth/build/table.xml
# PWServer/auth/build/conf/table.xml
# PWServer/auth/etc/table.xml
# var/www/register/config.php
- chmod 777 for all files.
Como ligar?
# cd /PWServer
# ./ligar.sh

That's irrelevant, what he's saying (and if he's not, I am) is, beggars cannot be choosers. If you know nothing of servers or PW servers you don't have a choice but to start with something you can make work. Time and time again we've told people if you can't get a 1.4.4+ server working, then you need to go start with my 1.3.6 release to learn how things work. Then, a few years later try again, and most likely you'll be able to get things working after you have tinkered with something that is as nice to have been handed to you on a silver platter (such as my 1.3.6 release)... I've seriously taught an ape how to install my 1.3.6 release. Same cannot be said for any current 'release' of 1.4.4+ In order to get any current 144+ release working you have to have a decent prior knowledge of PW servers.Quote:
