The future of retro use (JK)

Now many of you may be wondering what the "Retro Tool" is and what it does. So let me briefly explain.

The retro tool is literally what the name says. It is a tool for retros. Now this will not be specifically for owners of hotels, but also for hotel users. As a random first release (just for fun) I have released the browser version that I made in about 2 minutes. It will be available for Mac and Windows.

Player uses:

-Direct connect to client through MySQL
-Toolbar on side that will provide additional features (new tabs, hotel windows etc).
-Direct links to popular hotels (owners can request more to be added).
-Play a hotel with different swfs (This option will work with your own swfs, or pre given from the application)
-Account management (edit your details)

Owner Uses:
-Hotel management windows (Basically a housekeeping)
-Administrator login (secured with a pin if you want)
-Remote shutdown of server
-FTP feature (won't come for awhile, not important atm)
-Customize the application for your hotel specifically, have the download link on your site. Contact me if you would like me to create a special splash screen and look for your hotel. Could call it "Habboon Client.exe or something like that.

I have literally hundreds more features planned and I will update this thread constantly with new things I am adding. unfortunately I will not be constantly updating my download link. After I have a lot of new features added and I feel it looks nice I will upload a second version.

Again a reminder: The current version was whipped together in 2 minutes because I was bored. But these features will DEFINITELY come soon! So hold your horses ;)
Oh and I also will mention, Convenient download sizes will be available. I am fixing the large download size on the windows version! Users will not complain, in fact by the next release, they will be in awe at your hotels custom client program!

Looking for developers who would be interested in making this a much more advanced tool with me. Just would make things go faster :)

Screenshot of a couple things I'm going to add in. Direct links to hotels. May also include a create your own hotel button. Also working on "use your own swfs" type of thing where you can insert links to the ones you want to use.

Ex: "Connection Setup"
Connection.info.host: habboon.com
Connection.info.port: 1232
Habbo.swf link: blahblahblah/r63/habbo.swf
Variables: blahblahblah/r63/external_variables.txt
Texts: blahblahblah/r63/external_flash_texts.txt
Username: "NAME HERE"
Password: "PASS HERE"

This would be saved as a connection for anytime connect.

UPDATE: Added buttons for hotel connection, admin tool, friends, purse, hotel webpage, chat, catalogue, news, and help!

Another update, Just made the connect to client button open a custom connection window:

The connect feature will also have a "Split" option where you can put the link to the hotels client and it will fill out the fields for you (this option won't be available for some time).

It's because you already have downloadable links. And even though you may still be working on it. This is its appropriate section.

If you're just doing a browser tool, write a chrome plugin (everyone uses chrome, ye?). No need to write a whole new browser people won't use.

The browser part is more of an extra. But when this is done it will be a new browser people will want to use, and if they don't then they don't have to, they can just use the tool. But A chrome plugin has major limitations. This way I have no limitations.

The major limitation statement is an excuse. I HIGHLY doubt people will use your browser over Chrome or Firefox. Re-think your project plans.

Don't piss yourself when I give my opinion of your product. If you don't like it, don't post a development thread.

If you don't like it, you don't have to use it, thats all I'm saying. I like my work, and so do so many others. But thanks for your opinion. I will look into a remaster of it. Maybe a copy of it that is a chrome extension without the browser would work? Not sure.

I never said I didn't like it. I was just giving my opinions and ideas. You don't hear of too many independent browsers toppling over popular ones. Which is why if you bring a strong plugin to whatever people use, they'll be more urged to use it more because it doesn't stop their usual daily flow.

Nah XCode isn't so hot with me. I love apple but Xcode has a really awkward system to work with. This is produced with Visual Studio and Real Studio, but does not require them to run.

May I ask why you not code it for Linux to?
Or is there to much difference in coding language for Linux, Mac & Windows?

Just didn't think there was much demand. But I have just made a linux version that is now caught up with windows and mac versions. Development will continue for all three now :)

UPDATE: Heres a screenshot of the program 100% functional on windows. Loads webpages incredibly fast :) (Sorry I highlighted the URL in the screenshot :P Works for windows Vista,7, and 8.

Isn't that just a case of having a local client page (editable by the user, of course), loading it in the browser app and insert the appropriate variables (pre-configured also by the user)? You'll probably also need some configurables regarding authentication (could work on a per-CMS basis?).

Yes n0minal exactly. I have been trying to do that, but I have a real weakness for CMS's. Trying to figure out how the code I'm using would work with it. I may have to restart from scratch using something else.

Update: I have compiled a linux version as well. Just as functional as the other versions and looks identical.

Anyhow, it actually looks good, but Makarov is trying to help you. Use his advises, or just say that you don't want to build plugins.

Is this built on Trident? I'd seriously recommend against it. :(:

Nice to see some one using REALBasic, I don't think I have seen anyone use it since I released FUSE.
