I saw this VPS in MochaHost for $18.17 and the price seems very cheap.
This is what they offer for this price (the first plan):

So I have 2 questions:
1. Can I run a v117.1 server on it smoothly with no lags and stuff like that?
2. If anyone knows this host, is $18.17 the real price (for just the vps, no domains or something) or are there any other "hidden" fees?
For a VPS that only costs $18.17, I wouldn't expect anything fancy.
It might be enough for a start (not sure), but it's definitely not good enough if you wish to have 50+ players.

if you cannot afford a vps for a year then dont bother running a public server, its as simple as that.

I recommend you try to find ~2GB RAM with at least 50 GB of disk space for around 20-30 dollars. A linux VPS definitely works better, it's cheaper yet much, much more efficient and resource friendly.
I found one for 30 in softsyshosting just like you said. I'm starting with it and hopefully I'll get enough donations to get a better one when the time comes.
dont get softsyshosting. They are a great host but when it comes to getting DoS attacks, they will terminate your service without warning.

Thats crap too. if you actually want a decent VPS, it would cost at least $25-$50
I know, MochaHost has one for 31.47 after a 30% discount. Which VPS should I get then?
