Samsung Galaxy S4

..Is up for preorder in the U.S.

U.S. smartphone buyers looking to grab Samsung's Galaxy S4 finally get their shot today.
Preorders for the next Galaxy-class phone have launched at both AT&T and U.S. Cellular today.
The Galaxy S4 is listed on AT&T's Web site with a ship date of April 30. But actually getting to the preorder button is a challenge. Entering a variety of different zip codes in the location field kept triggering a message telling me that "the device you've selected is not available in your area."
Some people seem able to pick up the S4. Tipters told Engadget today that AT&T's site does show the device as available for preorder in certain locations. For those people, the page confirms $199 as the two-year contract price and $639 as the off-contract price. The phone itself is available in either White Frost or Black Mist.

According to GSM arena , S4 is a solid 8 core phone :

CPU Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7

with 2 GB RAM with a PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU.

No. The S4 is an 2x Quad core. The difference with a real octa core is that the S4 can only use either one of the quad cores at the same time. Which makes it a dual-quad core or how ever the correct term is.

On topic: Over here Samsung is having the introduction event the 26th and it should be in stores the day after. Definitely going to get one. However, I'm hearing rumors that after the first large batch Samsung will have their Exynos production capable to handle the large demand of S4's. Which makes it likely that there will be a 'second' S4 released here with the Exynos Octa. From benchmarks it shows that the Exynos is 5 to 10% faster than the Snapdragon 600 which is a huge difference in power. It's less tweakable tho..

If it's really true that the Exynos is faster (and doesn't drain the batary like 200% faster than the snapdagon) I might wait for that..

Either way, I'll buy one for sure.
