I found that when you kill a zombie and you are in hardcore mode, you get the amount of xp and/or gd that is specified in the column GD_SOFT and XP_SOFT in the database in the table DataGameRewards. I thought this was strange since XP_HARD refers to Hardcore (according to me)
change line 806 in ServerGameLogic.cpp to make it give XP_HARD to hardcore and XP_SOFT otherwise:
