The best ubuntu version for server.

Hi, may I ask which version of ubuntu is the best for server.
there is many version i found liked 8.04, 11.04, 12.10, 13.04...
and which system should i choose between x32/x64?

centos 5.8 works fine

Oneiric 11.04 Ubuntu is the best to run it on since the ones after no longer support ia32-libs and have some problems working with Berkley db (especially 1.4.6 files).

Debian AMD 64bit port :D:
Native execution of legacy 32bit binaries is supported by the kernel, and core libraries are provided by the ia32-libs package.

CentOS 6.4 is for crap hardware (running 32 gs with 6gb ram + 10gb used swap from 20gb total)

If they're talking about GUIs, then it's the wrong version of Ubuntu. That'll be the desktop version. You want the server version, and personally, I'd use 10.04 LTS, as it's the most stable version of Ubuntu for the server to work on.
