Adding an entirely new skill?
Okay so I attempted to add a new skill tonight but it didn't work, I added a row in ItemInfo, ItemViewInfo, ItemInfoServer, ActiveSkill, ActiveSkillView, ActiveSkillInfoServer, and a new line in MiscDataTable.txt
pretty sure I did everything correctly, checked ID's, checked Index names, ran into an issue where the zones crashed but quickly realized it was because the serial and checksum were not the same in MiscDataTable, corrected it, and it worked, but my problem is that well first off I learned the skill, it worked, but there is no icon or entry in the skill list, it says I learned the skill, and I based my skill off of a similar one. I did set an icon in ActiveSkillView and patched everything in.
The skill does not rely on any abstates either, any ideas? Probably going to bed right after this so I'll respond in the morning.

Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Taking a screen shot of the rows you've added to each of the files mentioned above could help.
EDIT: Also, just in case everything is setup correctly. Try restarting ALL of your services including 'AccountLog, WorldManager, GameLog, Character, Login'.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Abstat.shn, SubAbstate.shn.... you can't create "entirely new skil", it will always use an already existing buff's index(AbStaIndex).
But assuming you want create a (2) for summon i'm not sure , i'll try it later and say you what i found.(if i find something of course xD)
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
@jeff972 Thing is Summon01 doesn't use an AbState. That's why they were hopeless to fix in the old files. Or it was just the files, dunno.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Yeah i realized that just 2 min ago Xd that why i edited my post by saying i will test it
but i need to sleep atm i'll test it tomorrow :O.. i'll give you feedback if i find something
@NvrGnaStp can you post your MiscDataTable.txt 's row , i'm pretty sure the problem is there.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
@jeff972 Haha, aight jef972. :p Sleep tight
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Ok guys i got it XD it's so simple i won't tell you :O
Lol obviously, i was kidding !
it is located in the activeskill.shn
here is how it has to be :
summon01:
Code:
ID InxName Name Grade Step MaxStep
6530 Summon01 Summon [01] 1 1 2
Summon02
Code:
ID InxName Name Grade Step MaxStep
XXXX Summon02 Summon [02] 1 2 2
Yep you forgot to set it up as the 2nd step of the skill, as simple as that XD
Additional Info: keep in mind that you have to Adjust the MaxStep on all Step everytime you add a step.
EDIT: Now i can go to bed ! XD
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
@jeff972 Dat passion.. :P I had no test server to mess around with it.. Good job, your fix makes a lot of sense! Sleep tight mate, you deserve it. :)
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
just in case
how to config the summoned monsters power(def, Dmg etc) ?.
it's located MobWeapon.shn (InxName: skeleton_sum)
LoL , only now i understand how selesnia did its pvp kq summons XD.... its not as hard as what i thought, i guess?
i'll give it a try :o
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Code:
#Record 34 Summon02 mobindexhere 1 Rampage Target 60000 - - 0 0 0 - - Dead 34 ;¼Òȯ¹°
MiscDataTable.txt - yes I put the mob index, just avoiding idea theft xD.
And I don't want it as a new step, its a completely new skill, the name is just temporary, sorry, I should've mentioned that. But I checked the ID's of all the activeskills including server sided, and indexs, they all match, the problem im having is, it learns, but doesnt appear in the skill window. I went directly off of Summon01 as a base, even left the icon the same.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Something I worked on a while back, never finished it. It summons three fighters and they do attack but their attackrate is slow.
MiscDataTable
Code:
#Record 34 Summon02 Slave_sum 3 Rampage Target 60000 - - 0 0 0 - - Dead 34 ;¼Òȯ¹°
Client shn's
Server shn's
The shn's only have one row in them for faster download so don't just put them into your server folder and replace. You don't need to edit MobInfo, MobInfoServer etc at all unless you're going to add a new mob, I just put them there if anyone wanted this.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
@Shawie , Thx ill test it :P
@NvrGnaStp ah k i misunderstood you, so i'mma test to create a new one and i give you feedback :P
PS:
Oh Btw, I realized that like 20min ago
we can also use "Victus_Fiesta_Incomplete" release as model . it has all content (i guess ?) example summon up to 5
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
Maybe you have reached a maximum number of learnt skills. Go to your SQL database and go into w00_Character > tSkills table (or something like that, still haven't go a test server) and find your character ID from the tCharacter table. Check if in the tSkills table exists the skill ID of Summon [02]. Report back when done.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
I tried to create a new one and it crach the client:
-when you learn it,
-unlearn it
-and try to get in your skill list.
i'm still trying to find out what's wrong
i'll test Shawie's summon and compare it to what i did, maybe that will help.
Re: Adding an entirely new skill?
All this. Jesus Christ. (facepalm)
