blender nif export scripts?*SOLVED*
do they work? is there asetting i can just export directly from blender and use the nif file? if not what is the best/working tutorial?
ive seen these:

but they seem a bit difficult hence my first question.(and doesnt make sense to have to re-open your model into blender)

once again sry for posting here but a bit more info.....

that is what i got up to.....from that link i had above.......the actual model is just a basic shape.....and im having to click the older bows mesh and import the new mesh which says i need to triangulate which i do then i get this in nif skope also :/
got the object to import but why are the textures black? dont missing textures show up as pink?

When it's pink it means the patch has been lost, you would have to re-assign the map to those areas.
With it being black could mean the normals need to be fixed,there were no images applied, or the mesh has a negative scale.

ok im certain its not negative scale.....shouldnt be the images issue......and i think its the normals....never messed with those....time to learn XD
*edit* if you can point me in the right direction on what i should be doing that would be nice....if im correct normals are for lighting right?
p.s. im guessing nif scripts dont work from what you replied?

I'm not completely sure if the nif scripts work, I haven't actually bothered. To fix normals I think its Edit Mode>Select all Verticles>Recalculate normals outside>Confirm.
Not 100% postive. Haven't used the program in ages.

ok i fixed the normals before you posted.....i just forgot to set them in blender....but now im getting the pink texture as you said and im certain i got the path right and the issue i think im having is the format.....im using gimp dds.....is there a special format to export it with?

Have you tried to reassign one of missing textures from the place where they are supposed to be?

yes....im certain its the dds file.....becuase i can assign a bad/wrong texture that was for another object to it and it works but looks messed up.

.....heres a rar of both the nif and the texture/dds im using.....the nif is my first thing ive really messed with so dont critisize and i took a random pic from google that went with the theme of the skin im making.....

I don't really want to help you so much so...fiesta textures are 256xsame,512xsame etc.

ok....dont know really why your here then? im looking for help......but as you said about the texture size.....i scaled the original
jpg to 256x256 and exported it.....still didnt work.....i think its to do with the exporting.....
what do i put the setting to ? what compression level? does it need minimaps? etc, i tried a dxt1 compression with minimaps and one without compresion or minimaps.....still no go :/

thank you very much for that.....and according to infran view you cropped it to 256 and compressed it to DXT3, does not tell about minimaps etc tho :/.
*EDIT*EDIT* got it to work....time to mess with shader propertys.....it shows up very dark in game(still visible) :/*FIXED
*edit* just got around to testing the file.....still has pink texture in game :/
