Job Interview

I had a job interview today for Best Buy, sales consultant selling computers and tablets.


The interview asked very little about technical knowledge, more, rather, personality questions.

I'll hear back within 48 hours.

I'm excited, but I'd still have thought they would have asked me more questions.

This was because BestBuy tells you what to say when making sales in your first week of training. They value people with outstanding and welcoming personalities over people who have technical knowledge. Some locations have these types of interviews even for geek squad employees depending on what you apply for.

I'm sure I have enough knowledge to do sales, so I'll find out in 48 hours if I got it or not.

I think you should absolutely try to become a part of the Geek Squad. I've noticed that the sales people aren't that helpful. From personal experience, I watched a sales consultant try to figure out why the iPad 2 case wouldn't work on my iPad 1.

I've not even tried to get a job, I think it would interfere with other things.

I should try to get a part-time job but I don't need it.

Yep. For me it's not just for the money, rather needing something to do with my time as well.

Absolutely, need to work to survive! Job market in Glasgow's dreadful, can't get any work for love or money! Instead of calling myself unemployed, I call myself freelance :laugh:

Exactly what bitblaster said, but im pretty sure that my college and job will go to hell once gta v is out. just sayin.
Atleast now when i move to france i can get a job there, in estonia its hard to find a job when you're not 24+ and with good education

They seriously ask some crazy questions from time to time. When I applied for my first job (in a supermarket) he asked me this:

What's the first thing you think of when I say the word.... Hammer. I immediatly replied nail and he seemed to be satisfied. Then he said: Train. I replied with: railway.

I guess they need to know with what kind of people they are dealing with. If I wouldve said: Bashing someones head in when he said hammer or suicide when he said train he wouldntve liked me as much as he did.

Anyways, did they accept you?
