UK porn blockade still coming
BBC News - Online pornography to be blocked automatically, PM to announce
So you have to opt-in to get porn... I feel sorry for all those husbands who aren't getting any and who's wives don't want them to look at porn...
Re: UK porn blockade still coming
I read otherwise, People will have it unless they request it to be turned off.

Every household in the UK is to have pornography blocked by their internet provider unless they choose to receive it, David Cameron is to announce.
It's bullshit anyway, it's time for someone to stand up and remind the world of what internet freedom is again.

"UK Porn Blockade Still Coming"
Contradictory and ironic, I like it.
Re: UK porn blockade still coming

... I have heard from 5 different sources; including BBC Radio 2; that it will need to be requested for it to be enabled.

Regardless of how it's enabled, the fact that internet policing is now becoming more common is disheartening. Plus makes it harder for me to knock one out, but I digress...
There are ways around it. What I'm interested to know is how the blocking will take place, since it blocks all devices within the home network it makes me think it'll be controlled from within the home. But how? Firewall block on routers? Also I ask, how many people have ever been exposed to child abuse images? I've been to some of the darkest corners of the internet since I became a heavy internet user aged 13, and in all my time on the internet I've NEVER seen any child abuse images.

I'm pretty sure they'll block porn websites the way they have blocked thepiratebay in the Netherlands, by modifying DNS records and re-routing the IP addresses on the ISP's core network.

You'll barely come across child abuse images if you don't look for them, they're usually only found by those who look for them.
Re: UK porn blockade still coming
I guess David's parents didn't like him wanking so he is taking it out on all of us.
I think they may be stupid enough to just block the domain like there doing with the Piratebay which I can get on with a simple proxy/another url they set up.

Dude, ready your own quote, you even highlighted... "The filter will be automatically enabled". That means that if you don't opt out, the filter, which is that you don't get any porn, is enabled. This is what various reputable sites report. I do not get why this confuses you so much.

There is plenty of it and it's not hard to find. The sickest is that there are actually quite a lot of 'modeling' websites with underaged girls getting naked. Under US laws underaged kids can be shown naked, if they are purely for modeling etc, so they are not allowed to be pornographic of nature. Of course the subscribers to those sites are without a doubt visiting with 1 hand down their pants...
