I use CentOS 5.9 on a dedicated machine for my server, i386 so it's 32bit, and to test client sided and host SQL, I use Windows 8 64bit Pro. No problems in the least bit. The installation errors are most likely issues with installed files on your hard-drive that it doesn't like. Read logs and Google to your hearts content.
Do you have skype? could you help me? :) if you have the time to share your skills :D add me up arnon.katz23 i just have a bit of issue on sql
I suggest you to use centos 6.4 and vmware workstation 9 (x64/x32)
i think its depend upon you, if you could set it up at centos 5 or 6 and also i noticed that there is also debian so maybe ubuntu too 32/64 it will run because your using a computer :D
Here you can find some discussions about the 32 and 64bit CentOS,
www.centos.org - Forums - CentOS 5 - Server Support - 4GB RAM Limit on CentOS5
32bit has a limit of 4GB RAM, most applications are 32bit which can use only up to 4GB RAM on 64bit systems which have 4GB+ of RAM.
You can use PAE (if your processor supports it) on CentOS and Windows2003 32bit to have more RAM but then the processing performance takes a very slight hit.
I wonder if cabal services/binaries are 32 or 64bit since 64bit programs should not work in CentOS 32bit so each WorldSvr service can use max up to 4GB,..
I read most of the stuff on Google. :P:
I guess there are so much more to configure on win 7 64bit than 32bit :P i guess 32bit is more preferred than 64bit :D
iam using 64 bit and its good i dont having problem running on it
