Sorry, it's a TCP Socket. But you init the socket and close it again in the same function. Why not just use static methods for that, if that's all you want?
First of all, this is not my thread. If you can give me constructive feedback on my CMS, go ahead. But splitting the PHP and HTML is standard these days and all CMSes SHOULD use a Templating system. The small overhead is worth what you get for using a simple templating system.

I don't want to advertise, but check hablow.dyndns.org if you want to see the speed of my package system AND templating system, and see if it is really as slow as you thought
