A plea, a lecture and a departure

Not necessarily in that order, but in this thread I intend to make a plea with people playing retros, give a lecture and then depart.

Anyhow, I was on a hotel earlier just sat playing with my mouse wire, basically killing time. I noticed and crossed paths with one of these new age skids. Long story short I jumped in and jumped back out again. A year or two ago yeah, i'd chase him down and hand the skiddy shit his arse. But I decided I'm too old and tired of it now.

Its pretty clear Sulake are rolling out the big guns and the retro scene is beginning to die. It'll take a fair bit of revolutionizing to save. I feel this is the perfect time to drop my hat and finally become an out of date jar of jam. (leave and move on).
Now I'm not going to make a big 'ill miss u all, ill be back time to time' thread, as half of you won't even know me.
I will however thank the older members of this community for providing laughs, help and in turn accepting my help. You are all(minus a couple) a decent community and its been a pleasure to learn with you all. (without ragezone I would of never aspired to take up the hobby of web development) I think I've added my 2 cents in contributions towards the release section and alot more into the help section and its safe to say I enjoyed all of it.


Now before I go I just want to say, to any of you skids running around acting the bigman with your booter or in your 1337 group. Grow up. You may have some power, but the true power is with the people fighting your type, and the people providing the place you act a badman.
The developers that brought the emulators, the cms' and the swfs are the ones with power, not you skids. Do one, on behalf of the sane retro community. (sane is the wrong word for me, but you get my drift)

This is a good thread, I'm impressed.

But there will always be people who have the guts to take retro's down just because they think they are hard by doing that and just because they think that they will get attention from doing that.

The most comnon excuse people use is that they don't get staff on the hotel and there I'm talking about the hotels with the low security that are easy to be attacked and that's why i tell some people if they have a bad security to work it up just to avoid

As one older member who was determined to stop the skids of this age leaves, another begins. Even though I don't know you, I feel for you and I agree with you. It's time people stand up and take a stand against the skids like I have. They're half the reason the community is falling to bits. Just today alone, I sore 3 hotels hacked, 2 booted, 3 people dox'd for "copying" images from another retro.. Pathetic.

I think that the whole DDoS and the whole give me a rank or I'm going to hack you is going to stay as long as the retro's exist, and it's because they think that the weaken people are that stupid to fall for it and some are and some do not fall for it, I've been a noob like that who used to fall for all the tricks that they pulle at me to get a rank but now I'm warned that not everyone is doing what they threaten you with so it's really smart.

I think that we don't have to call people who fall for it noobs because they are new to the retro world and they'll find out eventually and all that we can possibly do is learn them not to fall for it because sure some do DDoS or do hack when they have a security flaw but I don't think that a hacker is a big guy just because he hacks the hotel because he's not getting what he's demanding for but as for that you can help them with these security flaws.

I'll mostly spend my time trying to help people as much as possible and in the main time try to learn myself more things about these sort of things and so you guys can help and you guys are really good if you do but that's for you guys to decide.
