YLVIS - THE FOX ( New Gangnam Style? )

Ylvis, a comedy group consisting of 2 people recently released their new song The Fox. Within a day it had already received 2,5 Million views and still counting. The current view count is at 13,6 million. After a test I did myself, it received 60 000 views within a half an hour. Is this sensation the new Gangnam style, the new viral song/video?

The comedy brother from Norway are definitely growing, and the video is a great example of the viral effect.

So, is this song the new gangnam style? Can it be compared to it? What's good, what's bad? Can the English lyrics contribute to a better base than the foreign language in gangnam style?

This song is hilarious and addicting! I would say that this is more like the Norwegian version of Lonely Island.

It indeed is! I've already replayed it a thousand times. You might be right about your comparison, but can it reach a higher viewing count than Lonely Island?

Since I'm new at this forum, I just had to change my profilepic! Me too, I'm so glad it was released on spotify. I think it's more likely that The Fox can get a higher viewing count than Lonely Island, than Gangnam Style, but one don't have to be a genius to figure that out haha.

Spotify is a smart move, although it might decrease the chances for a youtube sensation. It can certainly bring more income. I'm sure they will reach far, I'm just curious how far. Looks promising nonetheless! :)

I got bored of Gangnam style after a couple of replays, but this one haven't given the same effect. In my opinion this one is a lot better, and not as close as annoying as Gangnam style. Did you hear it yet?

Sorry I've heard this song and I'm not amused but it's funny how the most easiest things get popular so fast take for example PSY started with GangNam style and it got so popular that even Coppercab hated it ( He's a racist )

Everyone has their own taste, we'll just have to accept and respect that. You're definitely right about one thing though, things that are absurd and simple are often the ones who become the most popular. Simply because it's new, brilliant and people have never thought of it before. It's silly and stupid, but it's still quite funny.

I'll be honest that Gentleman was a good song from PSY I really like that one and it made me dance so that one is pretty nice but it gets annoying when it gets replayed a thousand times.

Same for Gangnam style it first was pretty fun to listen to but it's getting annoying now and i don't think we're going to need a next PSY now or in the future.

I've always liked Gentleman, but Gangnam Style I only liked the first few times.

As for if we need them or not, that's not what this is about. It's whether it's coming or not. Of course, we wouldn't need any replacement at all. But it looks like it's going viral pretty fast.

Current time, it has: 14,2 Million views.

600 000 views within 5 hours, only the first few days. Seems to be getting popular quite quick, even though these aren't even musician. They are just comedians from Norway, and this was released in one of their shows.

11 hours after the original post it have now reached 15 million views. Only 11 hours ago it had 13,6 million. That's 1,4 Million views in 11 hours.

Well when i first played it.. I thought it was plain and stupid. Then i played it again.. and again... and again.. and again. good song

There's nothing the two of them can't do. Loved their intervew with Madcon. They've been doing these kind of stuff for ages, way before The Lonely Island.
