Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
Seriously I don't get it, why do you guys even want to waste time on Habbo anymore? It's not fun at all anymore. Loading rooms with maybe 500 dinos, 500 thrones stacked and a bitch load of other rares and dragons. What is the point? Back in the days there were a few rich people and rares was rares. And you traded with HC sofa's or other stuff. Even norms back in the days then you had a lot stuff. I just want to know from those who still play, what is the fun in it?
Also all this new updates is shit, I got a perm for saying "cam" like Cameron for about a half or a year ago.

I came to ask a question, and this has nothing to do with it.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
Don't really care still wondering what your doing here wondering that.
Nobody's really going to bother buying 200 Dino's and what not unless your really addicted to Habbo and you want to start an competition on who can get rich faster than the other wich is totally retarded in my opinion.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
I only go on Habbo to see new updates Lol.
Otherwise I totally agree with you, there is never really anything new that happens on the hotel.
All the same-old same-old (or maybe i'm just getting too old for it all :P)
I loved those HC Sofa days, I was so upset about the merge; HC Sofas were wrecked :(

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
I used to spend loads of credits on my home and on furniture from 2008 untill 2011.
Pretty odd to be honest.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
The MAIN reason(s) I stopped playing Habbo (dot com) is because:
- The ridiculous merge (which dropped furniture values down drastically)
and
- The unexpected flash update (r63+) which isn't too bad, but not my flavor of Habbo.
-
Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
Same reason here Ares the old version used to be better but now we're turning so mainstream.
-
Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
One of the main reasons why people would choose to play the real Habbo over private Habbo servers is because most private Habbo servers will be shut down eventually, either at the request of Sulake or personal/other reasons.
There are tons of private Habbo servers being advertised here on RZ, each getting less than 100 people online per day (correct me if there are major ones with 100+ online daily). Some of these hotels are very unprofessional which puts people off. A hotel with barely anyone online becomes boring!
Also, people are probably still playing Habbo because they are either bored or just coming on to grab packets/view updates or whatever. However the majority of people playing Habbo are probably under the age of 15, which shouldn't be surprising at all.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
I thought it was taking over my life, all I did when I came home when I was younger was to play Habbo, so I stopped and got into retros which I didn't play nearly as much. And I no longer play retros.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
I remember when a HC Sofa was worth like 60C, nowadays it's like 5C.. LOL
-
Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
They ruined the game by all the advertising. Flash wasnt that bad at all though all the different styles and shit lost the habbo feel. Look at that HITCH-interface. They are converting it back to the previous swf style (look puhekupla if u dont know what i'm talking about...) People still play it as they are bored or because its the most known mmo....

They've never been on a high value like that as you could get them for 20c by buying HabboClub...

.., HC whas used as currency to trade with other rares. It was the #1 source and it was easy to understand. Everyone was shoulting "XXX Rares for X amount of HC". Fansites with a value index made it up that the HC where 60C each.
Edit: On a random account I still have 35+ HC.. if it's not more

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
I used to play Habbo mostly because the game was pretty nice but once you buy credits once you are totally addicted to it ( At least i was addicted to buying credits ) and then you can't stop and then your telephone paying will get high and your mother or member will be like: You know what let's block this number because I'm getting too-many high payments and I'll eventually not be able to pay it anymore and that's what happened to me.
Habbo isn't as fun as it used to be.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
Another thing, If Habbo wants to compete with us retros then why don't they give credits and easy VIP. Why not be like us too? I mean, thats not good for us but they are just idiots seeing as they haven't thought of that or they are making a lot of money?

You seem to be forgetting one important factor. And that is they're a business.

Sulake would lose so much money if they stopped selling credits and just giving them to users. They'll never make credits free as this is one of their biggest profits they have.

They're a business, cheating in a game takes the whole purpose from it.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
All people online are packetlogging to update their emulators. That's my guess always

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
Everyone is saying that people prefer Habbo because it's less probable that it will shut down and I agree, but could it also be that (as little as the amount of people may be) there are still new users joining Habbo? Users who have probably never seen or even heard of the old school retros and since that's what they're used to they don't complain and also lots of people don't even know about retros, especially now that advertising on Habbo has stopped (hotels used to spam them but now they're scared).
I do believe that with Habbo's changes, and while we complain that "oh they removed this, and they removed that" when a new thing comes out the users on there must be like "wow, new features looks great" where as since we're used to different designs on Habbo we'd go "eurgh, looks terrible, I want the other one back".
New features, new set of users who don't know what the "old" Habbo is.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
I don't even know why people go on Habbo, It's full of fucking idiots that think a word is rare. Oh my goodness, I can't even cope.
-
Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
That does not even make any sense.
I've never seen anyone in Habbo saying that a word is rare all of a sadden and if that's so then why not leave them to what they are worth they clearly do not know that it's just virtual anyway so it does make them stupid but that does not instantly make them a fucking idiot that's straight up ignorant.
Anyway it seems that you've also gone on Habbo that the reason why you've ran in to them and that your probably the most ignorant person you can find there,

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
All valid points, however I have to agree for the most part with OP. I just remember having so much more fun with Habbo back in the day. Things were so much simpler. Rares were cool, but that didn't matter to most people. You had what you had, and that was it. Personally, I believe the thing I miss the most were the old fashioned militaries, gangs, groups, etc. rooms that were made with the L-shaped room. You had to dress a certain way, change your motto, maybe a badge, etc. It was cool. Now-a-days, you have to do 10 backflips, 65 push-ups, 100 jumping jacks, and join a group to get in a military. It takes the fun out of it, and most people who are new to it end up quitting or giving up because they can't figure it out or you get some guy who is just their to beg for a higher rank. Also, there's always 10,000 teleporters and wired areas that you have to go through. It's discouraging, and makes people just want to give up ultimately.
I hate to go on and on about it all, but you have to admit it's true. All good things come to an end, even when they don't even realize it's over. This happens way too often in the gaming industry, online especially. Habbo, Call of Duty, Halo, etc. You name it. Most games are going downhill. However, that's a whole different discussion.

Re: Why does anyone still play "real" Habbo?
People go on because they don't have anything productive to do with their lives.
