Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft (BETA)
Quote:
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a free-to-play digital strategy card game that anyone can enjoy produced by Blizzard Entertainment and unveiled at PAX East in March 2013. Players choose one of nine epic Warcraft heroes to play as, and then take turns playing cards from their customizable decks to cast potent spells, use heroic weapons or abilities, or summon powerful characters to crush their opponent. Players can play against the AI, random players, or their friends.
Hearthstone will initially be available for Windows and Macintosh, with a version for iPad coming later, hopefully in the same regions and languages as World of Warcraft. A release date has not been set.

So I have been playing this game for a week or so now and even invested some $ in it. I want to ask, is there somebody here on RaGEZONE currently playing it ? I know getting into the beta is pretty damn hard, but if you are, hit me up, we can do some 1v1's and test decks together.
I never thought I would play an online card them because I generally found them boring, but now I have changed my mind. You get advantages by using $ in this game, but nothing that cannot be earned through playing arena.
About Arena:
A deck costs 100 gold which gives you 5 cards (atleast 1 of them is minimum rare) while an entrance in arena costs 150 gold. In here you get to choose from 90 completely random cards (3 each turn in which you choose 1) until you get a complete deck of 30 cards (you could call this drafting), after this, you can have a maximum of 9 wins which grants best reward and a maximum of 2 looses (3rd loose = out). Even if you don't get any win and get 0-3 and go out of arena, you will get a deck worth 100 gold, some elixir, and some gold (very low 5-20) which makes it pretty obvious that buying arena entrances is more fun and more rewarding (the only reason someone might choose not to play only arena is because if you buy packs in bulk you get discounts). If you get atleast 7 wins, you get minimum 150 gold as reward, minimum a deck and more elixir (you use elixir to craft whatever card you'd like unless it's soulbound meaning you have to do something to get it).
The problem I see about Arena currently, is that it's very hard to get 7+ wins (luck is a big factor as well), and between 0 and 6 wins, the prizes are pretty much the same from what I've seen (ofcourse it's always randomized, but you almost never get over 50 gold under 7 wins). The prizes between 7 and 9 are also the same (I think 9 wins grant guaranteed 2 decks). There are some people that manage to get constant wins and manage to make a profit gold wise (get his entry back + more gold at the end of the arena), one of them being TrumpSC (on twitch). In over 20 arena's I only once got to 7 victory's and a few times to 6.
What are your opinions about this game ? Thanks
