Infinite Crisis

After seeing a link that MentaL shared, I went to check it out. So this is a moba (Dota/LoL/HoN) game, only in the DC universe with some new stuff. Obviously all those games are similar, but like with FPS games, the tiny differences can make the difference.

The game seems to have some interesting takes on moba games, they got 2 maps currently, 1 of which is a copy of LoL's Dominion map, but the other is quite interesting, whereas other games have the standard 3 lane set up, they went for a 2 lane set up with a massive jungle, which is actually designed to allow 2 junglers on each side, making it all the more interesting.

Anyway the game is in closed beta now, I signed up but I have no idea when I get access to be able to actually share my experiences, but I hope to get 1 soon (maybe someone here has a unused key they are willing to send me?)

So has anyone played this, and what is your take on it compared to other moba's?

I have actually seen this at Gamescom, the gameplay is very LoL-alike. At first, I actually mistook it for League of Legends.

The thing is, I don't like the fact you can play with for example Batman. I think that they limited themselves to a theme you can't really make something new with, champion and lore based.

Dude you do know what the infinite universe thing in DC is right? They aren't sticking to the prime universe, so quite simply they have a shit ton of different variants of each super hero/villain to use, not that there wouldn't be enough in prime to fill the game alone anyway!

Yup, they have like an infinite pool of characters.


So far it all looks pretty good and because of the whole DC universe thing, you know the lore will be good, the variation of characters and hopefully the backing of a large amount of people. The 'only' thing they need to do, is make this game good.

Just played my first game. The first thing that pops out are the graphics, looks really crispy, the city looks and feels alive, when skills hit nearby buildings then it actually damages them, massive explosions etc also gives you a bit of camera shake, making you really feel that you are into the fight.
The game plays a lot more chaotic then I'm used to, that doesn't say much though, with 1500+ games on LoL, nothing surprises me anymore, I know every champion, ever skill etc, so getting raped by a Nightmare Batman who comes out of nowhere and I think bites my neck, while I'm unable to move, feels really new, and thus somewhat chaotic.
Still even if you take unfamiliarity with the game in the feeling you get, then it still feels a lot more chaotic. And rightfully the so, the 'jungle' is massive (yes, I went there!), and it's less about less hitting (since credits go right in your pocket when you last hit, but goes on the ground for you to pick up when you don't), and more about actual fighting, add to that crazy stuff like using a special skill to pick up cars and throw them, and the game feels quite different.

Is the game better then LoL? I honestly don't know, probably not at this time, but it's definitely something new and seems to be less about meta's and last hitting, and more about having fun and do crazy shit.

I would definitely advice all of you to sign up and try the beta, it's fun for sure.
