Basic stuff you would need.
Hi so after some time watching over the scene i'm starting to pick up a server and well from looking over things i can see that most servers that recruit developer's don't usually get that far mostly due to the God-Complex Mindset attitude, So instead of making pointless threads i was wondering if someone or a group of you could tell me everything i would need to learn for Fiesta Developing i understand to some of you it isn't a Major Task and it's like riding a bike, but we all used Training wheels at some point.
Example,
You need to learn (x) and this will help you do (y).
Thanks to anyone who helps out.
Also if there is anyone left in the community who can spare an hour or so every odd weekend to give me a bit of 1:1 Teaching that would be great.
Re: Basic stuff you would need.
Do like what I am doing. Set up a server and learn for yourself.
Experiment/test stuff. Don't expect people to feed you everything you need to know.
Re: Basic stuff you would need.
That's actually how most of us learned. Then if something was bugging us for too long and it seemed impossible, just throw a thread in the Help section. There are many nice people who would love to help you out if you're an honest person.
Good luck, mate!
PS: If you give up after facing small or big obstacles, development is not for you. Patience and being a little stubborn helps!
Re: Basic stuff you would need.
Stubborn is my middle name, I just spent 4 hours redownloading SQL Express until i finally remembered i had to put .\-namehere- ... instead of -namehere- =D
Re: Basic stuff you would need.
Language wise I would suggest C# and ASM. Learning about bytes and such would help as well but other than that you don't need to learn anything much for fiesta. Just know how to solve basic errors and edit nifs/shns.
Re: Basic stuff you would need.
I think the question is pretty much answered? =)
