Re: How much worth is it?
why not build a pc ??
it more cheap and cool
Re: How much worth is it?
You can get that brand new directly from Dell for the same price. But Alienware keeps it's value better than almost any other brand, just know exactly what kind of warranty you have.
Even then, the specs of the AW14 are nothing special, you can still find many "non-gaming" laptops with a better GPU than the 750M which is what i have in my MSI GE60 (i paid $1,500 inc a 128GB mSATA SSD) so i don't know how this is the only avenue available for you...

I'm not familiar with any other laptop that could compare itself better than Alienware. The last time I tried looking for a better laptop as an alternative for Alienware products was Toshiba laptops, but the names were so confusing and I can't tell if it was good or not.
So not because I liked Alienware products because it was purposely for gaming, but it's the only thing that comes in to my mind that could be the best for gaming and graphical purposes. And also I'm not familiar with Las Vegas yet so I don't have any idea where Dell. Very little options for me.
I would liked to know good could a Alienware ALW14 be? Let us say GTA 5? Could I possibly run it with a perfect fps? High settings?
Re: How much worth is it?
GTA5 will not run on high on a 750M, depending on the rest of the specs low-medium maybe if you want 60FPS.
Re: How much worth is it?
Okay thanks, I probably might check if I could find a MSI GE60 which is similar to yours.
But again, can it run GTA 5 in a decent graphic setting?

I was planning to buy this one
Amazon.com: Alienware ALW14-1870sLV 14-Inch Laptop: Computers & Accessories
Any compliments or opposition? And has anybody tried going to best buy and asked if there are Alienware products available?
I dont recommend alienware at all.. you can get a cheaper and more better laptop from a different manufacturer or even a razer blade which is the best gaming laptop in the world right now

LOL.
LOL.
NO SERIOUSLY, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SECTION AND NEVER POST HERE AGAIN.
You just said no to the Alienware but turned around and told them to buy the most overpriced and USELESS piece of junk on the market? ROFL. You just discredited yourself there my friend. If you want to be a blind sheep and spout the same crap you hear others saying without having a brain yourself then you don't belong in this section.
Alienware is the best boutique PC brand in the world, both their expandability and their warranty is second to NONE in the industry. I mean NONE. And with Dell gone Private again, it's only going to get better. If it's within your price range then it's better than any option you have, but never make the mistake of trying to compare it against any other normal laptop as far as price is concerned. Because it's not just the laptop you're paying for.

even a mid ranged MSI laptop can outdo an "Alienware", unless your looking for flashy keyboard colors, and adequate cooling, you still have to deal with poor customer support, Drivers/Software which is detected as 3rd party hacks by most games, and alot of parts are OEM meaning you have to buy it from the manufacturer which cost ALOT. everyones entitled to their own opinions, and with the several thousand computers i've assembled over the years for my customers i highly don't recommend "Alienware" nor "Dell".
Razer Brand as well as Benq are professional brands they use in eSports, its not a crap brand it delivers performance and quality.

HAHAHAHAHA.
No, sorry. I honestly refuse to believe that someone as ignorant and naive as yourself actually works in the IT industry. If it is true, i truly and honestly feel sorry for each and every one of your supposed "clients".
The first sentence of that doesn't even make sense. An MSI can outperform an Alienware. Are you even reading this back to yourself? Seeing as you specifically customize each Alienware system and MSI has pre-made models, what you said literally does not make sense for someone who apparently works in IT. And unless you're looking for adequate cooling? So you're saying that's not something you look for in a gaming laptop? The fact that both Alienware and MSI have excellent cooling is irrelevant here i guess. As for the customer support, Alienware techs are employed to be on social media sites and major notebook forums providing direct support within hours. I have had countless interactions with them they actually engage with the community and help people.
Alot of parts are OEM? Umm yea, it's a laptop so MOST parts of MOST laptops are "OEM". Yes everyone has an opinion, mine is that you're either lying or really REALLY shit at your job.
MSI:
- removing backplate voids warranty
- repairs shipped back to MSI or certified repairer
- not all models backlit
- premade configurations
- plastic chassis
Alienware/Dell:
- every component is removable (m11x exception)
- user is able to replace all components without voiding warranty
- replacement parts shipped to your local repairer for in-home repair within 2 business days
- all models backlit with customizable colors
- all configurations customizable, includes personalized nameplate
- magnesium alloy chassis
- extended warranty can be purchased at ANY time (months/years after original expires)
So perhaps now you realize why it is worth the extra $3-400 for an Alienware of SIMILAR specs? As i said right from the get-go, when you buy an Alienware you are not just buying a laptop. You are buying the whole package. Many people will sink over $800 just on extended warranty with Dell (about 5 years cover) when they buy their system because they know it WILL last that long. There are many with 1st Gen M18x running the latest hardware still under Dell's warranty. Heck if you want to trade in a last gen console to get an Alienware they'll give you $200. They also ALWAYS have 10-15% or more off coupons, and you can also haggle their sales for more discounts or extras. My Alienware laptops were the cheapest laptops i had ever bought.
Yah great, Razer is in Pro gaming. So is Alienware. But you don't see them gaming on a Razerblade, do you? It is an overpriced piece of crap. The first gen had an almost 40% return rate, they were horrible. I have had Alienware, I've owned about 5. I would still have them if they hadn't been stolen when i got broken into. I have an MSI now and can't even swap out my RAM or HDD without sending it to a certified MSI repairer. I am literally just waiting out the rest of my 8 month warranty period so i can tear it open and go aftermarket with everything.
Re: How much worth is it?
If you can't build a PC for some reason, Alienware would be your best bet. Though the GT 750M is mediocre so you should go for another model if it's in your budget.
Re: How much worth is it?
i lol'd hard, +1 rishwin
Alienware EOT.
Re: How much worth is it?
BAHAHAHAHA. Awww someone's little itty bitty ego has been hurt. Apparently I'm ignored so i can say what i want without him getting his panties in a twist again.

It's called sponsorship. Now get your head out of your ass, smell the roses and then look for some other place to be at.
Of course my opinion must not matter either because of my post count.
Anyhoo PX50 it's best to look up gaming laptop comparisons, I'm sure you'll find some with actual tests.
As for GTA 5, no one knows what will be required from a PC, in the past Rockstar has done some piss poor ports to the PC that made even decent gaming pc's drop down on their knees. So if they optimized their engine properly then it should work fine on any proper gaming laptop, if they done a shit job then you might have to accept low settings. Either way I expect that any decent one sold now will be able to handle it to some extend.
As for Alienware, Razer and the likes, they make great systems, they look impressive (obviously taste differs) and will give you a proper gaming experience. However the pricing is way too high, you will be paying so much more for the name and design that buying them is hard to justify.
Like I said, go look up comparisons, it's the only way to go.
Re: How much worth is it?
I'm actually getting my Alienware 18x this December lel.
