Trasfering elements.data with 0kb

Hello, I'm having a little problem.
Now whenever I copy elements.data to the client side, after I turn the server on, the elements.data file becomes 0kb.
I tried using FileZilla, WinSCP and SmartFTP, this happens with all programs.
I have enabled "Force UTF-8", transfer mode "Active" and "SFTP - SSH" on, but it still happens.
I tried to create 2 items, both are like the Tag of Sharpness items, so new players get some items to get started, but even when I copy my backup working elements.data this happens. Turn the server on, elements.data gets 0kb.
Anyone have a solution for this?
I'm also using Oracle VM VirtualBox.
