See post. 146 simple install. its install easy ))
Re: Anyone can help me plz ?
And if your just starting out learning you might want to start off with pre-tideborn serverfiles and once your used to them and familiar with them move up to the higher versions.
Re: Anyone can help me plz ?

Re: Anyone can help me plz ?
But as I said since 1.3.6 servers are more well known about and more proper tools are released for them, you should start with those first.
and most of the server images here require you to have VMware running a linux for you to use them.
But if you were like me when I first started and want something really simple look up hrace009's files for vbox. Really outdated buggy and on Vbox, but still functioning easy image.
All really really nooby peoples with no Linux or server knowledge essentially start on a place like this http://forum.ragezone.com/f694/re-po...s-vbox-763824/ going to be honest
but those server files are closed cause of Megaupload so you can google the file names and maybe find a mirror
And besides Vbox is the best much better then VMware.:ehh:
Re: Anyone can help me plz ?
Actually vmware is better than vbox (by far), but I guess that's technically subjective <.<
{and,,, moved...}
My problem with distributing something 'premade' on a VM image (vmware, vbox, or any other) is that no matter what there's NO "simple" way to wipe someone's ass for them. No matter what there's SOMETHING the end user will have to know/do etc... While a 'plain' release, that user may have to actually know or figure out how to install Linux, learn how to NOT rely on a GUI to get everything they want done with a mouse (points and clicks) etc... While many may envision that as 'the end of the world' I still personally prefer it (heck the person may actually learn something), rather than providing them with a prefabbed 'image' of a VM that will just 'fire right up'. One of the main problems I foresee with this, could actually be a problem with no matter what method a person uses to install anything 'server' related, is NETWORKING. Though I actually believe it to be worse off with a prefabbed VM image because whoever made the image already configured the networking, whether it's set to use DHCP or an IP within their own LAN. This is just asking for trouble... Lets say I DL a PW VM image and the person that made it set it to use DHCP, first off it's a SERVER so, that in and of itself is HORRIBLE! Secondly that would not do me any good since my network does NOT have a DHCP server :lol: or, lets say the person that made it set it to be static @ 192.168.0.10, well that's no bueno for me either since my LAN network operates on 10.0.x.x IP's... Likewise on the flip; if I made a VM image, 192.168.x.x IS "more common" so my VM image using 10.0.x.x would be useless to someone that didn't know networking so they could properly change it themselves to what it needs to be. I figure at least if you supply people with the files, at least this way they kinda 'have' to set up the networking on their own as they're installing the OS.
Any which way, it never ceases to baffle me how people cannot comprehend something so simple (networking).
So (@OP) if you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty (not literally of course). Maybe even want to learn a little about Linux and networking (and want to or wouldn't mind going with v136-) I would have to recommend my release (which actually has a current major update pending) here: http://forum.ragezone.com/f694/compl...2/#post6233347
Though as discussed that is not a 'fancy' VM image. You have to install the Linux (OS) yourself, know at least the pure basics of networking (so you can properly assign an IP within your LAN's IP pool). Though this is the PW *development* section (even though it's a little out of place) I did even make this write up since networking seems to elude so many people! So if you don't know networking at all, you can give this a read too: http://forum.ragezone.com/f695/absol...6/#post6038760
