What role-playing is

Role-playing, also known as "RP" for short, is like being in an improvisational drama or free-form theater, in which the participants are both the actors who are playing the parts, and the audience.

When role-playing in Aion, participants adopt and act out the role of their characters. Characters people play may have personalities, motivations and backgrounds different from their own. The players achieve the acting by using the chat system's local range "/say" channel to type out what their character is saying and the game's controls over their avatar to visually indicate movement and animation in their character's actions.

Where to begin with role-playing

Creating a character is the most important first step. Do things you would normally do when starting the game of Aion such as choosing the race you want to side with, a class as your role, then a name you would like for your character, design their appearance and then create the character.

Tip: Elysean names are often influenced by Greek/Roman languages. Asmodian names are influenced by Norse/Germanic languages. Pick original or simple character names and know that they don't necessarily have to be of the aforementioned origins.

Your character appearance does matter so keep proportion sliders as natural as possible, explainable quirks are okay. Any silly or obscene looking characters will be deleted by staff.

The second step should start simple and then grow as complex as you like afterwards. In this step you will create a basic biography outline of your character by thinking of simple facts to begin with such as their ideal profession in life once a Daeva and basic personality. Next think of more complicated facts about your character such as their background story as a human.

Doing the role-playing itself in Aion

When you log into the server you are by default "in character" or "IC" for short, which means anything you type out into /say chat is what your character is actually telling things in front of them.

When you need to chat to someone "out of character" or again "OOC" for short, use any bracketing to mark it.
e.g. [[ May I join in?

If you need to explain an elaborate character action that could not be performed otherwise by the computer game animations, simply enclose the action in asterisks like so.
e.g. *Echo gives a thumbs up followed by a wink.*

That's all there is to it

The rest of the game is played normally using game mechanics. If you see an enemy player you believe your character would like to kill, engage them in PvP (Player versus Player) or a monster that your character wants dead, engage it in PvE (Player versus Environment) combat.

• 758 AC - Tiamat, the 5th Balaur Dragon Lord succeeds in opening the first Abyss Portal to Poeta in the future using Reian stolen Time Relics belonging to the passed away Empyrean Lord of Time, Lady Siel. The remaining four Dragon Lords abuse Tiamat's success and demand the relic power be used on their own Abyss Portal mounted inside a battleship and then leave her shortly after. The second Abyss Portal leds to the same alternate timeline in the future.

• 759 AC - The Balaur presence significantly lessens in Atreia. The top three ranking Dragon Lords and their armies leave the present time Atreia through the second time-warped Abyss Gate as they are making no progress here. Only the 4th Balaur Dragon Lord Beritra remains stationed in the present time Atreia as ordered to by Fregion the Arch Dragon Lord. Left to his own devices, Beritra denies re-enforcements to Tiamat because she assassinated his lover Apsu who would have been the rightful 5th Dragon Lord.

Israpheal, Empyrean Lord of Space, also known as "Lephar" the Leader of the Lepharist Revolutionaries reveals the truth of his survival and nature when he steals Siel's Time Relics from the defeated Tiamat to fulfil his dark ambitions of travelling to the past before the Balaur to rule over Atreia. He is killed by the ghost of Empyrean Lord of Time, Lady Siel who also destroys her misused Time Relics.

• 762 AC - Kamar, the Reian Deava Capital in Sarpan, Balaurea, declares a state of peace as Balaur attacks recede completely. After being reunited with his parents, Kahrun announces a pilgrimage to visit the Elyos and Asmodian Capitals on behalf of the Reians and representing Lady Siel.

• 763 AC - Kahrun visits Sanctum and the Seraphim Lords, then Pandemonium and the Shedim Lords, asking a ceasefire treaty to be signed so that he may be with both his parents and that others amongst their races eventually be reunited as a byproduct of this. The Seraphim Lords and Shedim Lords sign the treaty on the condition that it be an eased transition for their races and a trust earning process. Restrictions are put in place such as access to capital cities and fortresses is forbidden by either race until a later time. The day of the signing is named "United Front Day".

• 764 AC - Kahrun returns to Kamar and promises regular return visits. Remaining Leparist Revolutionaries re-purpose and rename themselves to Seperatist Revolutionaries and recruit Elyos and Asmodians that are openly against the ceasefire treaty into separate terrorist factions on both sides of Atreia. In this year also, the first few Daeva renounce their allegiances to the Seraphim and Shedim Lords to accept Lady Siel as their Lord and become Reian.

What are the drop rates ?

Very high but honestly doesnt matter. Every armor/weapon/wing is in the toll shop for 1 Toll. You don't need to drop anything honestly.

Been bored out of my mind. This seems quite intriguing as well as promising. Never played Aion but love to roleplay, so this will be an interesting experience for me.

You must use a lowercase account name. Possibly your problem stems from using a combination of uppercase and lowercase?

You can get Level 65 in day doing quests. Regular Quest XP rate is 32x, killing mobs is not recommended for leveling!

If they really fixed the lag , this will be a nice break from work when I get home . Really enjoyed the server and my fairy pet but the lagg made me die too much since the mobs could attack me while I was standing still pressing all the skill buttons but she wouldnt even flinch ...

ya server its laaging.. problem its that server its in australia... and i have saying its fix it with wtfast... but its not much better =/.. i waiting when server up to UN or europe

Up for this, this server is the best so far, based on the current version that AION is curently running, it's just a little bit lag for me but it seems fine as I just want to explore more about this AION world which I couldn't be able to do in the real AION :)

We're still looking for experienced Aion players and role-players to become staff!

Well, i just started the server, and its pretty fun in my opinion xD
i'll stay for some time and watch the player count grow xD

I started a while ago too, so I'm enjoying the server :D not only won toll. :(

I've been itching to find a Aion server where I don't have to keep worrying about lvling only. Haven't RP in a while so I guess I can get back into it. As for trying out for staff......errrr, although I have a lot of experience as a GM (due to other games & Alaplaya.....ProSiebenSat.1 Games.....whatever the hell they call themselves now), I may apply but that just depends on how I feel at the moment.

So I tried a while back to get onto the forums and asked around only to find a single person was there after a week of logging on and checking. I just tried to get onto the website again now and it says it is not available. I guess the server is well and truly dead then? If so does anyone know of any other Aion private RP servers?
