btw, ubuntu is Linux, they all mostly are.
It's a bit like walking into an ice-cream shop, they're all ice-creams, just different colours and tastes.
If you're new, hands down -- there's only one choice, at least until you're more familiar with things to be able to make other choices on your own IS:
