Well if you take a look at it in a technical viewpoint.. not having HDDVD is not a big problem. Currently console games are only around 2-3GB. And most of that is textures. The xbox360 was designed so one of the three cores does misc. things such as decompressing which makes 8.7GB well enough storage. Textures does not necessarily mean quality. Rendering in HD has little to do with the textures but a lot to do with the actual graphics processor capable of rendering at 1080i.

However hardcore RPG games will most likely use up space. Thus multiple DVDs can be used without sacrificing anything. It is hardly a hassle to swap disks.

It is unfortunate that the XB360 will not be able to play next generation HD home videos. It is capable of playing windows media video HD which can compress to fit easily on a dvd. We will have to see what microsoft will do. I will definately get a sony playstation 3 just because it will be capable of playing bluray videos. :thumbup:

RsX.. console capable running high-definition games and videos does not mean it must have HD-DVD player...

Yes xbox360 will not have HD-DVD player, it have only if microsoft makes last secound changes and adds hd-dvd player to xbox360, currently xbox360 have normal Double Layer DVD Player... same player as was in xbox..

Well i still get xbox360... and add hd-dvd player when it is awiable in shops...

So whats the benefit of an hd dvd? Just more space?

tbh I think we dont need that.. just more money for games to spend for uneeded space.

Umm.... the XBOX 360 game disks have the HD-DVD logo on them... Well the CoD2 that was on display at the GameStop in my town did anyways. :eh:

Lol wouldnt suprize me daedius. Seems like everything they do is to scam the consumer in to spending more money. The ONLY thing i see they did right was keeping the games 50-60 dollars.

Yes, there is a HD-DVD player coming. Also an external Blu-Ray DVD player will be available soon (But not for games i think).

Yes you are correct, so far M$ is not thinking in games using the "external" HD-DVD drive, and maybe never will...

But only time will tell. In my opinion it was a dumb move, but they can suprise us all with a nice idea, let's see...

As for the videogame itself is pretty cool full of good looking graphics, but so far that's all.

I think they just added it to make the xbox 360 'sound' better...
