Describe your Year

So 2014 is near, and a year has passed again. Now lets all take a moment to review 2013. What has happened this year, which big changes happened in your life? Now take all this, and take a song which you think fits to your situation.

For me, this will certainly be Headhunterz - Colors (I'll add a YT link later) - a lot of shit happened and been pushed over some breaking points, but after the rain comes sunshine. Eventually things can only get better. 2013 for me was a year with lots of change. Mostly only good chanhe though. Another one which would fit is OneRepublic - Counting Stars.

Now I'd like to hear your stories, what happened, share it with the others. I'm really looking forward to see some good comments and stories.

Got broken into multiple times with 4 laptops & new PC stolen, father had double heart surgery & i had my license suspended for missing jury duty. A shit-tacular year, i thought i couldn't beat having my house burn down & totaling my car in 2008 but i think this is coming up almost neck & neck. I'm in the worst financial state of my life thus far (opposed to being in the best financial state this time last year) but that is mostly attributed to my new car & the Mrs going on a 3-week holiday to the US for Blizcon, we really needed a break from the bad luck we'd been having.

Overall if the memory of 2013 could forever be purged from my mind i would be a better human being and certainly less cynical about life, but hey shit happens.

My 2013 I would sum up as being shite despite passing my driving test. Breaking up with the ex and then the bullshit that followed has really soured the year.

Finally understood Math.

It was pretty eventful.

Well, all my years start off like this, I'll swear to my self I'll do something productive and end up trying, but failing at it the whole year long. Been doing that for two years straight now! Let's do it again!

College, learning to drive and mainly being broke all year lol. Maybe next year I'll have a decent job and own a car.

Damn mate, that's some hard stuff. Sounds like the worst isn't even over yet. Don't let it get you down, though.

It was... better than the most.
I managed to get over the worst of my PTSD.
Cut contacts with some toxic friends.
Sort of figured out which branches of medicine interest me the most.
Went to a few folk music festivals.
Was able to hang out with my best friend this summer (he's been living in the uk since, um, 2008

So yeah, I survived another year, huzzah.

[EDIT]: OH RIGHT. Totally forgot, visited the Netherlands in March

it was aight. a little bang bang here, smoke smoke there.

Ended a 3 year relationship (very happy about), moved, visited another country, and lots of work.

I started this year working for almost minimum wage as a supervisor at a pizzeria (living in my mums basement for 200 a month I might add).
I ended this year living in a decent apartment 2 hours away from anyone I know (thank god), making considerably more (150%) doing less, and I am back in college doing the things I love.

*shrug*, this year has probably been my most successful year yet. Cheers to 2014.

Scary and a true eye-opener

This year was okay for me; got 2 jobs, finished my internship and i am doing fine on school, still my love life sucks though..

Graduated HS, went to college, learned some lessons, still shy irl and still lazy

Got a new job in Jan... turns out I hate the job. Broke up with a girl who started systematically stalking me for the following 6 months. Got a huge ticket for driving with expired tags... that one is my fault. Came to RZ to find most people I know who used the board are no longer here. Didn't get to go back to Japan this year. All my college friends have either moved away due to work or grad school. Jaedong lost WCS.

Feels bad man.

Spent nine months preparing with my better half for the arrival of our son and in September we finally got to meet him. Lots of trips to the hospital though. Might've been boring at the time but now he's here with us and safe and healthy, I consider the time spent there well worth it.

This year was pretty good I've met my cousin and we've been talking more ever since so I'm pretty happy about that but the bad thing is that my exams are starting next year so I'm pretty nervous hoping to make it and be able to go to college and study for a good job of course!

It was a mediocre year for me. Nothing too bad...nothing that great either. Got a better job. Enrolled in grad school. Currently on a quest to bang a girl from every sorority here on campus. So far I''m 4/12.

Lot's of fun.

I will struggle to pick a song but I can say for sure I can't wait to see the back of this year.

I sacrificed a lot for less than nothing in return. Injured my shoulder again, extending my career lul to 4 years+. Stress, lack of sleep, lack of heating, lack of food. I was physically attacked. I was recently cyber attacked, losing my Facebook and all that I had on there. Been fucked over by a few people this year, I can't wait for 2013 to fuck off.

In terms of success, it's been hugely successful. Gained lots of experience & qualifications, received a few awards, graduated sixth form, got into University etc.

In terms of enjoyment, I've not really enjoyed it. It's probably been one of the lowest years of my life.

Yeah just accepted it's gone. I'm not getting anything from Facebook other than automated "fuck you" responses.

Ah that sucks man, really.

Been pretty good. Alot of my goals I made in 2012 for 2013 have been fulfilled. I told myself 2013 would be the year I make money, and I kept my word by getting a job in the beginning of 2013, and finishing off 2013 with a huge pay raise ($27/hour)
Besides that, I'm on track with school and got straight A's the last 2 semesters.

The only thing that has bothered me this year has been my health. I gained over 20 pounds since the summer, and I can visually tell I am getting fatter. I am also smoking more often. My goals for 2014 are to overcome these problems

To everyone having bad luck, atleast post some good luck you've had this year and not just the bad ones! Pessimistic vs Optimistic!
Regardless, I hope everyone's bad luck turns around in the coming new year.

Another boring year :/

The year certainly had its ups and downs!

Got to spoil my nephew on his 4th birthday.
Got a big raise at work.
My uncle committed suicide.
Paid off my student loans.
Got a new camera for my birthday! (my roommate bought it for me)
Went on a huge trip to Yellowstone with 3 of my friends and my mom, sister and her kids.
Completed a really big project at work. (9 month project)
Won first place in the Color Photography division of the OMOT art competition at work (so my picture was on display at North Park in Sept) And second in B&W.
Found out my cousin's son was diagnosed with Asperger's (which sounds bad, but that was good news, now he can get the right help he needs)
Bought my first ever new car! (Honda CR-V)
Found out my Aunt has breast cancer (she's having surgery right now for it)
Spent Christmas with my cousin (same one previously mentioned).

Looking forward to my Mom and nephew visiting in Feb! (He's going to be 5, and we're going to see the Monster trucks)
and I'm hoping the year will bring lots of other good things!

Did get myself my own place so I'm quite happy about that :D

I guess altogether you could say it's been a decent year.

It's had its ups and downs.

November really sucked, (specifically 20th - 24th November) other than that the same old things a student does every year. It's been good, financial trouble hasn't come my way yet. And so on.

moving out was one of the best things i ever did, it also made me the poorest :P

- My grandma and my grandpa died.
- Had to give away my dog.

Those two are the worst things that have ever happened to me, so no this hasn't been a good year.

Had a great year, it started off completely shit, because I lost my job placement/internship a couple of months before that, extending my college time a lot. But I got a new one in February and I was able to learn so much there about myself, being able to accept a part of my history and be open about that, it has given me a lot of strength and calmed me in many ways. And while it took me like 7 months longer to finish, I did finish.
I got myself a job, the contract sucks a bit, since they call me when they need me, so it's hard to plan ahead, but I'm getting all the hours I want, I love the work and it obviously pays, so money is not something I need to worry about. I applied for a new job including an education, the literal translation would be psychiatric nursing, which basically means I work at psychiatric clinics (already do btw), learn a bunch of medical stuff and more about medication. No idea if I will get it, but going for it is always a good feeling.
I got myself a new cat, my previous cat of 16 died last year, so this year it was time for a new one and she's a sweet one. :)
Lost loads of weight this year, will continue to do so, I started in April, so I will wait until April for the before and after pictures, but they are shocking already, so should be interesting. :P
And I'm currently dating a girl, no idea if it will become something, but even if it doesn't, with my new looks, attitude and the money to make it happen (plus assistance from a friend - she's been helping with my new look :P), is attracting enough attention to find a new girl in no time. :P
