What game should i start out with?

Hey im pretty new at gaming (as ive been studying programming for 3 years), and i was wondering what game would be good out as a starting point for my beginning :eat_arrow

Below ive listed my system specifications so people have an indication of what i can play:

Ram: 192mb ram
CPU: Intel p3 800mhz
Sound: Direct 3d compatible sound blaster
Gfx: 32mb onboard 3d accelerated card with OpenGL Support (DX 9.0 installed)

I can run Tribes, SOF2, and a few others. So i think ill be able to run a descent game. And i want it to be online. i have a 256k internet connection though :toilet_cl

how about CS?

Duno I dont think U can play bif mmorpgs since they require at least 1 gh.
Try maby gunz its posted meny times in the forum I think that that needs low specs.

with those specs, u could only play web-based games or simple 2d games.
Upgrading is highly recommended.
Recommended specs wouls something like 512Mb RAM, 1,5Ghz+ CPU, and Gfx Card with at least 64Mb (not onboard! >.>)

well with that specs CS is good to play and yea get a new pc...i feel that even my 512 ram sucks

I started with MuOnline its O.K but its good if you or new with MMORPG online and do not play any private server always start with Official so.. here is the link

Hmm, youve been doing programming for 3 years yet you program with that comp. What programming did you do? Iam curious, theres not much you can do with a p3, let alone programming. As for games, check out Ragnarok Online. The Oceanic server has free 2 play sakray server. Sakray server is there test server, you get everything before everyone else but there's the occasional server wipe. If you dont like RO, try Mu online or play some counter-strike.

thats not at all true.
ive got a 500mhz, 512mb ram and a gfx card with 62mb and can run guildwars,bf1942 n crap

the best way is to upgrade ur com, then u can play any games u like

u only got a suckage CPU. with a suckage CPU u can still play, even if the minimum secs say otherwise, but it's more than likely to be quite slow in loading, and poor performance overall.

Ok, well ive upgraded my pc... well ive maxed out the motherboard anyway! :ohmy:

Theres are my specs until i get a new mobo, cpu and some ram.

Intel Pentium 1ghz
384mb SD PC-133 Ram (1x 128mb stick, 1x 256mb stick)
64mb graphics card (shared memory with system)

Nothing is overclocked! :dulya:

with those specs you could try play MU , but lemme warn you first , its not a very "honest" game . scamming here and there are bread and butter stuff , but its not a complicated game overall , besides , no offence but those specs you have there are kinda.....*ahem , sorry.

My old Acer computer has got better then that, and it was free.

well theres no use telling him to upgrade his comp, he wants to know what games he can play AT THE MOMENT.

i would think that your best bets would be mmorpg's like mu, runescape, Mir2, Lineage ect. if you have a few gig's of bandwidth that you dont use, (and if you have enough HDD space) i suggest downloading clients for all the official RaGEZONE mmorpg servers and just give them ago first. if you dont like them then just walk down to ur closest gaming store and they should be able to point out some good games for you.
