1st problem.
its always windows problem, the windows which you are using not compatible with the serverfile, try to use windows server 2003 sp 1 or windows server 2008 r2
2nd problem.
it can be config problem, (check the database config again) and i think after the 1st castle siege its working fine. (try to run a castle siege and try to go up to the castle.)
