Can anyone who has the fully up-to-date PWI client files upload their models.pck please?
I would get it myself but I'm not fooling with all of that "ARC" bullcrap.

you don't need arc, just a clean client that will link to PWE's servers
(basically.. install a new client and update it)
No you need Arc now because theres no downloads of the older PWI client that I can find, and I just need the models.pck for the Reawakening weapons models. lol
wow.. are you THAT dense? how did you get your PRIVATE server client?
Don't be rude to me just because I don't want to have to download an entire client just for one part of it that I need
And I haven't been keeping up with things either and I was told by someone else that you could only get it through Arc but theres no need to be rude to me like that.
One way to lose contributors to a community is to be rude to them.
Thread can be closed anyway. I got a fully updated models.pck like I needed already.
I know this is a few weeks old but I have STO, CO, NW, and WoI on my rig, and I don't use Arc. I know Arc must contact a download server and I seem to have read somewhere (memory fails me) that you can find the server by examining the Arc logs. I will check it out this weekend and post what I find out. But the files don't download by magic so there must be a connection to be read there.
To my understanding Arc is just a poor clone of PWE trying to be like Steam. Cloning is my job, not theirs! ;D
---Just an Update---
I did find something. There are password protected zip files in Program Files/Perfect World Entertainment/Arc
they follow a format naming: gameinfo.xml_# where # is 0 through 3
Also of interest here is a Config.ini file that start with;
I tried those and they lead to dead ends or password protected locations.Code:[config]domain=xiao.com
server=front.core.perfectworld.com
port=5222
[Login]
server=login.core.perfectworld.com
port=9881

---Update #2---
I installed Arc in a VM and that sucker can really vacuum up the memory! I did some poking about in there and had it install a game to C:\test on the virtual drive.
If you are running Linux and running it under WINE, it will attempt to create a directory off the root of the drive called "ARCTEMP". This will not work well if you specify the Z drive in any fashion. Since it has no root permissions it will fail.
Back to the VM, after it installed, I closed out Arc and it continue to suck up CPU cycles until I killed it. I moved the test directory to another virtual drive (acid proofing) and ran the game launcher without Arc. The game updated and worked as expected.
Now to the matter at hand, if you need the entire game Arc will download it in a compressed zip format to the "ARCTEMP" off the root. After it is downloaded, it will be erased after install to the directory. This method would not be a great option, if you wanted a single file from the archive. So in my professional opinion the OP request for an individual file makes some sense. However if they have the game all they would need to do is run the update patch.
