Here, i want to share my knowledge for DN Section about Autoupdate from Offcial Launcher.

Im sorry for my bad english.

if Launcher got that .cfg they will extract Resource00.pak for taking version.cfg. if match.. SKIP. and if NOT. UPDATE..!!!!


B. when Launcher read the different version from server to client. Launcher will download the update version from the directory of

C. after that. will download 3 files from that directory .the .pak file, .md5 file and .txt file.
and launcher will automaticlly extract that .pak file into Resource--.pak

And Done. thats my analyz.

Open datedit and drag your dnLauncher.exe to datedit.
Change your URL with your own URL. and Save it

If you have files for an update. Like mapdata folder and Resource Folder Just Pack it into 1 Folder with PakPacker.exe
and rename it with new version. In case is first version is 13. and we doing with new version is 14.
Rename it with

and now, we need to inserting version.cfg into Patch00000014.pak
use DNPacker English.exe, Open that Patch00000014.pak and Add files like this And Save.

and next. put the PatchTxtGenerator.exe in 1 Directory with Mapdata and resource.
Run it...

and we have 1 file from that generator like this

Open that Text. Make sure your list file is from Mapdata and Resource folder.
and will write with D direction. like this

just write with C Directory like..

Install md5summer.exe. and then Right Click files Patch00000014.pak
make sure your file with this name, with upper case MD5. and open your MD5 with Notepad. and Make sure it just md5 code..
if got another text..Delete it

Create PatchInfoServer.cfg with notepad, and put that in version Folder. with this content

Note : --
your patch version should with consecutive.
Example, if your previous version is 14, you need to update with version 15.
if your version is 133, update with version 134., and so on

DNPacker English.exe stop working how to fix this?

Hi, when I launch the game with the launcher the game return a "unable to connect to world", but it connect well when I launch it trough the bat. Any ideas ?

because when u game start from launcher , IP for gamestart not same with your bat file
you must edit with hex i think , edit the game launcher where the parameter like bat file .

Gamestart -> DragonNest.exe /ip:127.0.0.1 /port:14300 (this is the parameter of bat file)

and from launcher you must edit that parameter , like bat file :)

CMIIW , just my logic :)

Another problem, the PatchTxtGenerator doesn't create any file, when I launch it, a cmd pop and depop in less than a second telling that the txt is created, but there is no txt anywhere, any idea ?

(Made the file with my own method) I'm now stuck at 50%, the problem come from MD5, but my file seems good :

1. make Patch00000xxx.txt
2. make Patch00000xxx.pak <== rename like this before make md5
3. make Patch00000xxx.pak.md5
4. open Patch00000xxx.pak.md5 and edit to just md5 code
5. then verify sums =>> Patch00000xxx.pak.md5 if u have green light ,,ur md5 is no problem

With only the md5 code and that name I've a red light. And the Text generator doesn't work with me, it doesn't generate anything. Any ideas ?

Just fail in MD5... I try 50000 times. And nothing and post creator its gone for help.

- download latest md5 summ
- First click!! - Create Sums(select type*.md5)
- Second click ADD recursively and clisk ok -> green and save file *.md5 at folder with *.pak patch file!!
- Third rename file like patchXXXX.pak.md5 OPEN ur MD5 with NOTEPAD++,than Delete all symbols exept md5 crc code
u have txt only like:

- Fourth open MD5sum click Verify sums and choose ur file! if green ur done!

try using XAMPP & IIS, no big deal, working

Just we need a better explication and complete tuto, nothing more. Because 2 guys (how much) can make functional launcher.

If no one knows where's the problem, no one will be able to explain it to us. We have to found ourself.

what webserver are u using? IIS or XAMPP? IIS sometimes like that but if xampp the maybe your dnlauncher ip doesnt correct, try to restart your webserver services

i succeeds to make it update via launcher
but can i start the game via launcher other than bat file ?

first time i did with launcher i got unable to connect

Launcher doesn't launchs your game on your ip/ports, so create the .bat file that you need, hxd the launcher find DragonNest.exe and rename it to your bat file. It will then launch your bat file which launchs your game on your server.

im tryin to get a friend with me in game via lan
yet my public ip via what'swhyip give me launcher error and e:5 error

also i have a router that says my public ip is 10.0.0.2 anyway to change that or at least make it for friend to update the game via launcher? and log in with bat file?

Hey all I have an issue, I can autoupdate via local but when my friends try to autoupdate (so on my hamachi lan) it connects and download everything but it fails at md5 check.. Please help :(
