This is my last post in this topic until the OP gives us his correct information.
You are misunderstanding my logic. I understand the OP's logic is flawed, but the response from some members here...
Your logic makes no sense. :eek6:
I think you need to apologize. That post was just down right mean. He may be mis informed, and arrogant about it, but that doesn't make him stupid.
You are on the same boat as he is, infact we all...
Are you looking at your connection under local internet connection? If so, that's only your connection speed to the router. Go to speedtest.net and post us what they say.
Anyway, looking at your...
If you compile from either 2_8 or 3_5 (or trunk) then it should work, no 'special' patches.
That's quite slow, kinda similar to the slowest DSL package where I live. He shouldn't ping out though. Maybe a routing issue.
I had the same problem, I THOUGHT I had my ports forwarded correctly but I had a hard look and realised that I had my ports forwarded to all my machines so when someone tried to connect to my server,...
Have your friend run a bandwidth speed test. If he is the only one with the problem then your server is OK. If his ports were not open then I even doubt he could log on or play.
:)
Did you read my post?
wiki.ascentemu.com
:)
First off, we hardly know nothing about your set up.
Are these custom NPC's? (I assume not)
What revision of Ascent are you using? Are you using NCDB? If so, what revision?
Sorry about break the rules last time! :(
Neways, my team is using ingame GM commands to add objects to the world, and it's saving (SWEET) but sometimes objects will move around (why?).
Also,...
Sure.

Automatically the latest SVN revision. :)
Ok! I'll wait for a patch then! :) Thanks!
Hey guys, I'm running the latest ascent rev and latest NCDB database and all of my NPC's are running backwards! I've already redone all of my databases and recompiled... is it just a bug?
Yeah Lol.. you have periods in your conf files hehee. But your current problem is because..well, your ascent conf is very hard to read and it looks like you really jacked all of that up.
I would...
Precompiled servers are a big NO NO. Since the server runs an .exe file people can easily include viruses and keyloggers in them.
It's best to go the ascentemu.com and read the tutorials there on...
Compile using 2_8_stable.
I can connect locally on my linux server... SWEET, but I want others to connect to the server outside of my server. I have all my ports forwarded CORRECTLY (I have a picture in another thread) and no...
Wow! That fixed it! :)
Thanks! :D
I use branches, but whatever. :D
Do you have your DCB folder in there? Also, it's best to compile your own stuff instead of downloading it precompiled. It's safer and you have a deeper understanding on how things work. :)
So my Vista server is working fine, and I got my world database over to my linux server and imported from SQL dump and that worked (since tool.sh doesn't for linux for some reason??)... however, when...
What optimisations did you do? Change the build from debug to release? :P
A few things,
You running on Windows? If so, what version?
What's your ascent reversion? Are you downloading a pre-compiled version or are you compiling it yourself?
So I FINALLY got SQLyog working on my ubuntu 64bit through wine and I'm very happy. I have my 2 databases world and character but when I try to use tool.sh to 'update' the database I get this error....
Thanks! :)
Is the 2.3.0 character database compatible with the 2.3.2 patch?
If not, where can I find it?
Thanks! :)
I just got my linux (ubuntu) server up with the latest revision of ascent and ncdb.
I have my linux box run the server but connecting to my laptop for the database (which is working fine right...
If it doesn't work, then find out why! :)
Everyone needs to learn how to do it themselves. I don't need to explain why because it's very obvious.
You know the server rev is up to about 3050 now right? Sounds like a good time to update.
Sounds like you already know what you want.

The most recent revision is 3003, quite a big jump from your revision.
Also, the programming team is QUITE experienced and are QUITE professional (most of them rather).
But I never...
Grab them from the SVN server and it's always the latest.
Ascent is 3002 right now and NCDB is 851.
SVN server is http://projects.emupedia.com/svn/ncdb OR /svn/ascent respectively.
The latest revision of ascent works with 2.3.2.
The SQLyog download for linux is only in binary. Is there an apt-get to SQLyog? I don't want to compile the source since I don't know how too.
Also, do you realise you are telling people to...
Thanks so much!
So do I have to compile this, then replace my current DB (character, world) or is there an "update" function?
Does the developers of NCDB have a website? Trying to keep everything up to date around here.
Reason I ask is that I see revisions flying everywhere and I don't want to just download them because...
Did you go through the ascent internet server guide? (Sticky at the top btw)
How do I get other people to see this website to register? do I need a hosting? I thought my local machine is hosting it.
And, I got this error when trying to create an account.
"Warning:...
Can you import custom art models / textures and the like with these servers? I already got my own up and running, want to remake somethings.
Yes / no?
What file format for the mesh / texture?
