You can edit items when character is online. Just put the item you want in storage close it then edit it once you edit it teleport before you re-open storage and then its done. Other...

No there is not. And also a good trick to do is make a second character on your gm account with out the [GM] and put the items you want to edit in your storage and just use that name in smc.
