Are your servers running in the same network? If the shard and gameservers are connected over the internet it might slowly increase the delay not sure why this was.

These idea's are good.

I really like JMerlin's idea to have the pk2 files at a webserver. Since I noticed yesterday when I wanted to try a bunch of different servers but I couldn't really play one...

really i had the same idea and i started learning C++ i started to make a private server but it was one big fail :P nothing worked what i wanted really don't spend...
